So insurance wants to give me...
SuperchargedRS replied to Yo'J's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
First try to resolve it with your insurance CO, it is like buying a car with their offers, dont take the first one. If they continue to be difficult tell them your going to call in comish, infact if you get someone on the phone that agrees with you at the WA state comish office do a three way call with your insurance company. Ask to speak with a supervisor at the insurance co, tell themn you are holding on the line with a representative with the commissioners office. -
If you want to go with a millitary looking paint job look into CARC paint, it is what the millitary uses VERY tough, alfaheaven.com sells it.

gotcha ya' I guess I will do a little more probing inside that bumper and try the washer thing and see where it goes, I just dont want these things flexing back when I get of the freeway or bouncing back and forth on the trail lol

***The lights have a single stud with a pivot *** Yea' it's the OEM bumper on a 90' loyale, **I'm hooking them up with a DPST relay hooked to my high beams with a cut off switch mounted in OEM fashion and they came with harnesses. And...dude... for the impress the women and drive with them on all the time...well I dont think that would be a very good idea, I'm not a big subscriber in trying to "pick up" women with a car, but what ever works for you I guess, and the lights are HIDS so I am guessing that I would make it about a block before getting pulled over or causing a accident if I left them on all the time. I just want to see what's down the trail when I'm exploring out in the woods, I dont mean to be a pr!ck, but theres no need to be a pr!ck to me just because I am asking a question on a forum

it's a 90' loyale So what is under my bumper metal, foam etc? I just need a way to get these studs in something secure -
I just got a set of HID 7inch lights that I am going to mount on the top of my bumper, what I want to know is if there is any metal under there? what is the best way to install these bad boys? electrically; I am using a dpst relay hooked into my high beams w/ a manual off switch, so I can still use my high beams w/o these bad boys turning on when I'm on streets. THANKS!

Well with the nature of some of the things I do I could use a nav system, I hate the cheapo stick on tomtom crap, and the loyale has more then enough space with the aftermarket stero adapter plate for a double din sized unit, anyone mount a double din unit yet? If one can fit no prob why not put a double din nav unit in there!

Well I picked up a boat so I will have something to do for fun. It's a small 14' sailboat... Well I need to find a way to get a hitch on my car now so I can launch the boat and bring her home after kicking butt on the lake! Does anyone know of a hitch that will work for my 90' loyale? Also I'm the the WA area. Thanks!

So I need to jump this green plug to something?? where is the light that is going to indicate the codes? Thanks

Well on my annunciator panel my "check engine" light was out, well I go to replace it, and it turns out the bulb was taken out and put into another one of those holes that goes to nothing, guess that is the lazy redneck way of fixing a engine light on. Well now that I fixed my annunciator panel, I read the article about the codes on this site, but I have a few question: Where is this light that is going to flash the codes to me? Where are the two terminals I need to jump to get it into "diagnostic" mode? Thanks, S **Oh yea this is on a 90 Loyale

Not many people would buy one of those cars for that price...and so his cars sit on crags list. I would call him and offer him 1k for both cars (if you want both), then if he says no, say that you will call him back a little later. Call him back a week later and ask again, I bet he will take it then. Some people thinh there crap is worth allot of money just because they waisted money on it, heck maybe he is one of those nuts that thinks he "invested" money into it lol I wouldn't pay more then 1k for both of them, if I was only to get one of the two cars then less then 500 as they are a pair (one running that looks like chit, one not running that looks a little better).

unless you know someone in the biz I would just take my business elsewhere, have a friend in another state reg it for you and mail you the plates back that would do it. I dont have any vehicles reg in CA as they are a little bit intrusive on ones privacy. They have a new law that they dont tell you about when you register your car and hand over your cash; if you dont show them your insurance card they will cancel your registration and by the time you get the notice it's usualy about a month after they canceled your plate # nice huh. However they have a list of insurance compnays that can "help you" on the back of the letter... what a scam so as a rule of thumb I dont register anything there as I dont wish to fund there crap.

Signs that the Head Gasket is going????
SuperchargedRS replied to bigo1966's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
A slight amount of water on the dipstick does not necessarily mean anything other then there may be condensation present from the cold. Check your coolent for any OIL (it will float to the top), does your exhaust smell sweet? milky crap on oil cap? compression test? If so R&R head gasket and check for warped heads -
