ok the noise is on both sides now and it goes away and comes back, some times louder than others. It does sound just like standard lifter noise. It doesn't matter if its warm or cold it goes away for only ten seconds ish then comes right back, doesn't matter if im on the gas or not, it stays the same. its been doing it for a couple months. at first it wasn't constant, it sounded like it was low on oil, but now it is constant. i'm gonna try the ATF thing when i have the money to change the oil. i'm just trying to understand more about this problem.

as far as i know the motor that i have is a 96 impreza L EJ2.2 single ohc single port exhaust i have never done a valve job on one of thise i have been told they have hydro lifters i should proly read my chiltons book but if any one has advice it would be greatly appreciated thx guys

how do i fix my noisy lifter problem im asuming i would have to buy new ones or just a new motor but i just wanted to see if any one new haw to solve this particular problem thanks every one

how can i tell if the brake callapers on my 96 impreza wagon 2.2 are stock i bought new pads and they dont fit and autozone told me thay should and that all 96 impreza pads are the same size i the outer one fits just fine bt the iner one is to big any help i really need new brakes for the show and i cant get any to fit i could grind it down a bit but i really dont like messing with braks like that please help this impreza has been a nightmare

any one tell me pros and cons how much psi can i run with out any problems im new to the turbo game any help is good help

my 96 2.2 5speed impreza wagon feels like it pulls more with the front wheels any ideas why

:confused:i did the tier spin and the marks are way off i alsow pulled the back have of my driveline to save on the trany but when i took it off the car would not move so i put it back in is that normal or is that bad im not shure if its suposed to move or not when u take out the back half of the drive line

this dose not help i have a 5 sp and that says auto trans only or was that part a typo

thanks i dont know what my gear ratio is my diff dose not have the sticker so i do not have any clue how to find out what ratio it is and i really dont want to pull my diff:mad:

i did not have second gear so i went to the junkyard and pulled a 5 sp out of a leg everything works just have a slight wine what could it be im woried cuz i dont want it to brake on the way to the show this year any ideas

well i dont know alot about the car other than what i have alredy fixed the trany was like that when i got it i was planing on just getting a used one but im trying to find a good place near me to get on for cheep and yes it will go into second no problem but when i let the clutch out nothing happens i had this same thing happen to a 5 speed honda but i dont know what hapens inside to make it just one day just not be there any way thank you for every ones help how do i tell what my gear ratio is on my rear diff

simple as that how do i get more hores power out of my 2.2

well im still new at all this but i do know enof to get me by and i wanted to know because i wanted to use the car for drifting and rally ext and i just wanted to know how i could make it rear wheel drive for when i want to drift but from the sounds of it i should just use an old ea82 car with 2.2 swap or 2.0 turbo but like i said im still new but not my first i was alsow woundering how hard it is to do a 2.0 turbo swap on my impreza wagon the 2.2 is a little lacking i need faster
