  1. I have a homemade lift, but if your willing to send one down to P-town, I would rock it. I would pay for your stamp too. that way when people ask me where to get a lift for their soob I can just point to the sticker.
  2. got some time today, ended up just yanking the whole intake manifold to get at those stupid screws. Tightened em back down and presto, no vacuum leak. while I was doing that I noticed the lower rad hose is leaking (and smoking, thats interesting) radiator looks to be on its last legs (there is a hole on top plugged with JB weld) probably time for a replacement.
  3. 88 Wagon - White 84 Wagon - Silver 83 Wagon - Olive Green with gold metallic flake (repainted olive drab) 82 Wagon - White 82 Brat - Gold NO BLUE WHATSOEVER!
  4. that color looks a little too close to my car, I am getting shivers up my spine. you have my deepest sympanthies for your loss. so whats the detailed story?
  5. i needs more info, I know where the old track is. details?
  6. oh yeah, loves it. are those bolts supposed to have the head facing the manifold? seems backwards to me. oh and yep, feedback c/w, but I got a lead on a nice weber to replace it.
  7. not to hard to find, go out highway 30 until you get to Scappose, you will come to an intersection with a light and concrete medians to the left, take a left and drive 10 more miles, you will start seeing forest roads, just take your pick they all kinda connect to each other. let me know if your going up there I might like to go.
  8. not to worry Monstaru, the topper will be looked after, I am planning to keep it on for awhile (maybe til summer) because it has kinda grown on me. Once I take it off it will be properly stored. I also *might* be interested in trading it for a high rollbar. Pete: typical wear on the seats, I havent looked at the pass side one yet but the drivers seat has tears in the usual spots
  9. scappose/vernonia has a lovely network of trails too. All the mud you can take!
  10. took a look today, found the vacuum leak, :rolleyes:two of the screws holding the carb to the manifold (or actually the adapter plate) are only half in. funny thing is the spare in the engine bay put enough pressure on the airbox so it plugged it all the way home. It's a carter/weber single barrel, the screw heads holding the carb to whatever wierd plate its on are on the bottom so I either gotta pull the plate or the whole intake manifold. Problem with just pulling the plate, is one of the bolts is REAL hard to reach. once I get some more time I will tear into it properly.
  11. basically I am just going to restore everything as factory as possible, and add on all the lovely OEM accesories (a-bar, jump seats, maybe rollbar, and full targa stripes). Paint is fine so nothing to do there. I might throw a weber on for a bit more power. and of course tune that engine to perfect (has a vac leak somewheres right now) thats about it.
  12. thanks, its been awhile coming. yeah, he oversprayed on the tires and brake drums......thankfully not on the body. Normally i dont like high toppers either, but for some reason it looks really good on this one. I think its the gold/white/red action going on.... thanks for all the compliments guys, i cant wait to start restoring it.
  13. New pics here Here she is as I got her: (whole car pics at the bottom) Pretty much the only body damage is that front bumper, fortunatly I have a pristine one and an A-bar to match There is one little tiny rust spot on the drivers wheel well, but the bed is PRISTINE. drooly drooly. Also, the guy spray painted the wheels white without taking them off the car, or taking off the center caps, and not evenly either. looks like crap (but thats an easy fix)
  14. torxx, just called carquest, they said that wasnt one of their part #'s, said it should have some letters or something. Could you double check that #? i really need to replace my gaskets.
  15. dood! you are always talking about that dealership. admit it, you secretly work for them.
  16. yep, most of the time. i'll see if I cant come up with a nice simple design, soob logos ok on these? or no?
  17. Turbone is right, I shoulda clarified a little. getting "permission" means lots of $$$$
  18. i live across the river in pdx... Im down to go wheeling......as soon as I finish fixing what i broke last time.
  19. oh yeah, the logo is definitly a no-no. Within implicit permission from a copyright holder you CANNOT use their copywrited work for anything. It is an issue of liability and perceptibility. and they can sue ya
  20. so, just to clarify: you are looking for a hat design? or a flyer? isn't the flyer supposed to have sponsor logos, and attractions of the event, etc? but if its a hat design than I am game. (flyers too, but it seems kinda early to have the details are worked out)
  21. and check out (for rally car pics) http://www.faberit.com.au/rxrally/other%20rxs/Factory/index.htm\ this one is my favorite
