  1. So on January 7 I am going to go live in the jungle for 2 months (long story, short version: the daily grind sucks and perpertual camping rocks!), any board members live on the big island ? oh and I wont have computer access most of the time but I will try to get on a couple times down there.
  2. so your telling me noone ran a snorkel off a weber in here? i find that hard to believe....
  3. wow he did a nice job, very finished
  4. nice Legacy! listen to Ken and Morgan on the bumpers, far better than those stryrofoam filled ABS ones on that note I saw a blue legacy outback with one in the gi joes parking lot in beaverton on about the 23rd, I guess there starting to get around
  5. he should have never gone in that hole, now he has all sorts of crazy ideas about watertight hatches in the floorboards to purposly flood the car or water tanks on the back;) so he can get some traction in the REAL DEEP
  6. stateside contact is pkdavis@ozified.com
  7. did that, I thought he said there would be some kinda voting for all entries (not just the top five) maybe I misintrepreted
  8. So I am attaching a snorkel to a 32/36 DGEV weber, but seems to me that the weber itself has places where water can get in. The only place so far is the choke, what have other people done for that? and is there anywhere else on the carb that needs to be sealed?
  9. Disty was suprising alright that time, good point about the clutch though, Ken i'll pass it on. I think even bringing the hammer down wouldent have gotten him through that it was nutty to watch though
  10. This is video of last weekend, usual place, but EVEN WETTER, DEEPER, and WORSE this time: Damage Report: steering linkage bushing destroyed diff hanger bent front cv boot torn shift linkage impeded by log (temporary) plenty of door dents some weird thunk noise I think might be a tranny mount and one submerged hatch, fine now, just a little soggy Please right click and save as to preserve server bandwidth. mudhole 1 (4.8MB) mudhole 2 (2.7MB) mudhole 3 (14MB The Soob Eater (26MB)
  11. Looks like a blast! nice pictures btw videos seem to be no worky
  12. dont know if it has been said but a 3/16 punch, hammer, block of wood, jack, and vice grips and extra axle pins are alls neccesities if you run a welded diff. and and extra rear axle of course
  13. heres some new ones: this last one gave me some flashbacks *shudder* plenty video of this one to come
  14. Nice someone started it, good job Zap! how are they being judged? my first entry (tried and true and DEFINITLY off pavement): I get one of the other wagon this weekend
  15. thanks all, it was near vernonia, very messy (although not foggy this time) and still half at night:banghead: gotta get up earlier next time ps Adam cant wait to see the finished product
  16. here is some I took from our latest run: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=631 the last one shows the neccesity of a brush guard or tree guard in my case. lost it on a log and the over compensated after driving sideways for about ten feet, d'oh!
  17. Its just sitting in the garage, the only thing missing is the front top brackets (cause there still on the car)
  18. NICE!! great comparision If it gets hurt the CB comes on and rebuilds itself I wish this was true
  19. heh heh thanks, noone cuts me off on the highway anymore
  20. oh yeah despite all the cleaning I did, all the exposed wire (connecters etc.) was green in a week. sucky but oh well. now it makes a great storage place for all my parts nothing else really rusted though, kinda suprising
