New Turbowagon...needs help
Caboobaroo replied to blownbimer's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
ok, few things to fix or check up on... tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor) check the 02 sensor check the intake tube to make sure its all connected and tight check for vacuum leaks from cracked hoses -
woah, lots of posts! Ok so I was kinda looking to get some money for it but since I need it out of my parent's driveway worse then I need money, thats why I said free. Unfortunatly, I'm no longer in Oregon so I can't do any work on it. All the extra parts are in the car though. If someone decided to spend like 15 minutes or so to get some front control arms in it, it'll for sure definatly roll but I cannot since I'm 16+ hours away. Also, I was encountering quite a mass of rain while I was there so I'm lucky to have loaded up all the parts into it. To give you guys an idea of how much rain, we were having flood warnings and roads were being shut down due to flooding... Jon, I have the mudflaps in a box right now but I haven't had the time quite yet to get down to UPS. I also have parts for other people I have to ship out as well. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten anyone as far as parts. Paul, if you want it, like I said above, John might have to throw the set of EA81 control arms that I have in the back onto the front and throw a set of wheels back on the front as well.

Newbie just bought 75 subaru on ebay
Caboobaroo replied to IdahoJak's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Welcome! We've actually been watching the ebay auction for a few days here on the board. Quite a nice little car you have now. Stick around here and you'll be able to find anything you'd ever want to know or where to get parts as well. -
Just a heads up of the parts coming with this thing. I have been cleaning the garage and have found LOTS, I mean LOTS of parts for this. Here's a rough list of the parts I have pulled out to go with it and a list of what hiding in the cargo area... an extra set of tailights extra parts hatch extra wiper arms misc motor pieces (crank pulley, waterpump, good core alternator, brackets, motor mounts, etc) Holley 5200 with water choke (haven't a clue where this came from) rebuildable EA71 carburator EA71 front control arms, calipers, rotors EA81 front rotors, control arms misc aide marker lights a set of front seatbelts 2 - sets of rear seatbelts front seats (not installed) a set of black dash trim 2 - center consoles (one black, one brown) skid plate, maybe 2 2 - rebuildable points distys EA71 valve cover EA71 flywheel (machinable I think) a container of misc bolts plus 2 new EA81 balljoints which I believe are both in there as well door trim for the outside extra door handle extra door latch windshield washer resevoir radiator with fan charcoal canister horns voltage regulator extra cigarette lighter black ashtray door seals 2 - aftermarket coolant overflow resevoirs plus so many other parts, I forget what all is still there Also, I will include a ignition key but I will have to wait on the locks from the old doors, plus an original glovebox key which still works the lock. I believe those are hard to find. It all has to go. Its all free and there's NO WHATSOEVER with me parting out anything. Its all in a bundle so if you want a part, take it all. It has to leave ASAP. I will do my best to make sure all the parts are in it to go with it. If you want pics, let me know since I have taken 4 pics of nothing but parts on the floor and I can label them as well if you'd like.

*starts making list* Forrester 5th gear... 3.90 tranny from XT6... aftermarket LSD... 3.90 open rear diff... my stock 3.70 LSD... Himmm I see lots of fun here! Maybe even add in a low range from a PT tranny and see what she can do.....

yes it does come with front axles. IIRC, there's a couple EA71 axles and I think a set of EA81 axles as well which will fit into it. I do believe I also have another hood as well but I will have to look. I have front seats as well, one is sitting in the garage and the other in sitting in the car. I also have a full gen 1 front end in parts too, knuckles, brakes, control arms, and a few misc parts to go with it. Just gotta get rid fo it all.... The spare set of doors I had for it are already gone, along with the two EA71's I had but I will make sure any other spare parts I have, I'll throw in with it. Oh and I got a couple rebuildable points distys too since, I don't do points no more;)

very nice Will. I am too planning on picking up a LM-1 wideband so I can get te RX totally dialed in. One I get the MS in there, should be a lot easier to get tuned as well. Now I got to upgrade a few fuel things after I get the setup tuned in with stock boost....

Jon, you can pick up my wagon for nothin if you'd like, just have to see her go. You got the PM from Mary about those parts from another board member which would be perfect for it. Let me know, I can PM you with my number if I haven't done so already. I can also get pics of the underneath if you'd like to show how much (or little) rust there is. If you're willing to ship, i can get her ready for loadup with all the parts and more I have for her, just not the time to fix her. Let me know...

well I paid 200 for the car, plus about 100 for the straight doors, hatch and interior pieces. So anything around 500 would be great but it just needs to go. Title I have for it is clean and clear but I would have to ship it to whoever wants it since I have it in my filing cabinent back in Wyoming. The reason for custom control arms is because I modified the EA81 setup into the wagon so I could have cheaper and easier parts to get like balljoints ($36.99 for stock vs. $16.99 for EA81). For an extra couple bills, I would let the custom control arms go with the car but I'd rather keep them since I don't know when I could make another set. They were very easy to make with a metal lathe. I made new stabilizer bars for them the same size as the stock ones off the car, then welded them onto the EA81 control arms when I had the weight of the car on the control arm. Like I said, pretty easy but you need a lathe to do it. So like I said, I can get mroe pics of other parts and whatnot that come with it, just let me know what you guys are willing to pay for it or what your budget on a car is and I'm very sure we can work something out. Still has the stock suspension/brakes/control arms for the front, one knuckle is missing the wheel bearings but all of the rear stuff is still there and in stock location (ie: the torsion bars) but the rear shocks need replacing. I will add any extra parts I have laying around here including another rear hatch with the rear wiper but it's missing the latch. Also, I never got the door locks switch from the parts car and I gave the rear doors to rattle wagon here on the board but I hopefully he can pull them for me and send them to the owner. ALSO NOTE!!! I have an ORIGINAL glovebox key AND lock in there as well, plus a spare lock which has no key. Front valence needs a little TLC but its fixable very easily. Also have front seats, needs steering hooked up at the rag joint, plus a few other things....

its missing an engine, front fenders since the ones that I had on it I shaved, and its going to be missing my custom control arms for the EA81 suspension since I'm restoring the Brat but doing some upgrades to it. I will put a set of EA81 control arms in there but one is bent, just to get it to roll around. Basically it has everything to become a nice car but it does need door seals unless I can find the set I pulled from the parts wagon. I also got a mint rear seat, mint carpet in the rear and mint rear seatbelts as well. A little mold on the carpet but thats from moisture. I'm going out the door but I can get more info for everyone

well actually its now a '78;) I had to do a vin swap on it since it originally had some problems with the title on the '79. Found a '78 that was being parted, same color and everything where is where I got the doors and the hatch from. I have the title, bill of sale, vinplate on the dash, vinplate on the door and the license plates to make it legal.

Yup, gotta agree with you on that. Now if we lived in Japan, that would be a different story cause then we might all be on a Skyline board or something. I've got the IROC and the v6 Camaro (going to be a bigblock) because I love to go fast AND have the ability to say I probably got a million horses and whatnot. The RX is a car that keeps me entertained and it also gives me something to have that says 'Hey, yeah I modded this and put it in there and this and this and this" Most imports in the US are quick, not fast. If you want a fast import, better get one imported from overseas and start there. Gives you a good base platform for an import muscle car basically....

Hey guys, its gotta go. Finally realized I just don't have the time for it and it has to move from my parent's house. Wish I could keep it but I will be restoring the Brat back to its former glory once again and the time for the wagon has ended. Please send me a PM because I don't usually check my email but once a week. Someone would have to come and pick it up basically as it sits but I can get it back on 4 wheels to roll. I have pics as well of her in her current location in the condition she's in. NO RUST, I mean NOT A SPECK OF RUST! Only one small ding in the driver side rear door and thats it. If need be, hit me back up before the 2nd and I can snap a few more pics of it. I will also add in a few extra suspension parts and whatnot, just ask and I'll let you guys know whats all there...

the search feature will be your best friend when it comes to this. There's a few people on the board with mildy to wildy modified EA82T's, myself being one of the more "wild". My current setup which will be running when I get back to Laramie consists of: WRX TD04 WRX TMIC custom AEM Cold air intake Samco intercooler hoses TurboXS BOV Spyder intake from a NA car which I modified for the turbo modified EA82T uppipe Megan Racing downpipe Delta 260 Street cams stage 2 clutch PLUS I got a few items which will be going into the new motor build starting in the summer which are: lightened flywheel custom crank pulley with EDIS ring megasquirt and EDIS setup NA MPFI rebuilt shortblock headstuds ported and polished gen 3 turbo heads TWE header or custom header Granted, there's still quite a list that I want to do to this car BUT the amount of work it has taken me to do some of the custom work to fit parts in from other cars has been quite a journey so far. But word of caution... with any sort or turbo buildup, make SURE you know how everything works before you start messing with it. My advice, get a wideband A/F gauge like the LM-1 and hook it into your stock car and learn how the car is all working before any mods. Then see where your your car gets the best performance stock wise, then start upgrading the turbo or adding in an intercooler, cranking up the fuel or boost, just make sure you know where you want it all to be when you're done. Oh and with the LM-1, you can hook it right into your laptop or PC and see what the A/F ratio is at a certain RPM which makes it easier for tuning.

OKAY!!! Anyone with snow want to host?
Caboobaroo replied to Baysurfin's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
WOAH! I just looked at your profile... 92' Z28 Sp Edition Police Camaro HO {For sale} 91' Z28 Convertable Camaro {For sale} I welcome you to the board as another Camaro/Subaru owner! I've got a couple gen 3's myself, both '88's. One is a 2.8liter, 5-speed combo and the other is a IROC-Z police interceptor car that was custom ordered with t-tops which makes it a one of a kind. I got the paperwork on it that shows everything it has. -
move to Wyoming! Sorry I had to say that...

I think the only mod I have yet to do on the RX is nitrous. Granted I still need to get my MS&EDIS setup but after that, the nitrous would be the last mod if I decide to do it. Then it'll be to the AWD dyno at Super Rupair and then the dragstrip in Denver. Gotta see what she'll do!
