  1. Like about 3 inches raised. I saw some that have the rasied section for the roof rack to mount to but those are only raised along the sides where the rack mounts but this is raised all the way across from side to side and from about where the front passengers sit to the back. It looks weird for some reason and I think it has to do with the raised top. I know its not turbo because of the lack of a hood scoop.....
  2. Glass media....thats all I have to say. I used sand a few times in highschool and it worked for what I was using it for BUT when I got to college, we have a large glass beading cabinent. Its the same as a sand blaster but it works a lot better and you can run it at a lower PSI and it will work a lot better. It is also is a lot cleaner to work with....not a lot of dust:D:D:D
  3. yeah man, I'd like her number. Then I can pimp up there in my 79 DL wagon and, well maybe be able to "break it in":brow: :brow:
  4. yeah I had a couple of Camaros. Just lost the best one I had yesterday to my ^#*^%#&%^#%*% dad cause...well he's a bit of an a**hole. So basically I have the Camaro that was supposed to be my highschool graduation gift (which I never got) sittin out front and my $18,000 baby which is the one I finally gave up on yesterday because of the bullsh*t I'm gettin from him, out back. Its been a sh*tty week for me. :dead: :( But hey, congrats on gettin your lisence back. Now go out and drive CRA..... I mean resposible:D
  5. Lemme see. Talked to a buddy of mine that has an 89 Subaru 2WD auto with a nice stereo in it. He asked for: Lowering springs coil overs nice clean looking body kits polyurathane bushings for suspension rims that fit our lug pattern better brake setups ie cross drilled and slotted rotors
  6. like a 95 Legacy L touring wagon? There's a Legacy wagon a few blocks from my house and I noticed a few days ago that it had a rasied roof. I was like, WTF?? I thought only the gen 3 wagons in 89 had the option for a touring rasied roof. So is this stock or did someone have this custom done? I just thought it was a little weird because even my buddy hondasucks has never heard of it either........weird I guess......
  7. yeah I have to agree with everyone. Dual range baby YEAH! Even if you don't take it off-roading, you can still use the lo range to spank those little honda freaks with the fart cans, wings, lights etc. off the line:D
  8. yeah I remember my first Subaru too. Wasn't quite my first car but it was close enough. I remember getting it all cleaned up and running pretty good and then I traded it straight across for my 79 wagon. It was an 83 hatchback GL, 2wd 5-speed. I remember him driving it off away from my buddies house, it was a gleaming sight from what it was about a year before. Then I went and got my wagon and then the real fun began because i wasn't starting out with a rusty car but more like one that didn't have a title so I guess the trade off was ok but now I have a title and I'm fixin the wagon up nice and perty:D
  9. I tend to work fast...but thats just me:D I did a motor swap in a 1971 Cjevy Vega from a small block 327 to a big block 468 in about 4 hours. When I want to get something done, it gets done.. YEAH BABY LETS GET IT ON!!!!!!!
  10. you also might want to check to see if you're vapor locking. It sounds like one of the symptoms you have might be from vapor lock. Just something to check:D
  11. yeah the EA82 d/r would be cool but I already have an EA81 d/r tranny, well actually two because reverse is blown out of one and first is blown out of the other I think. But yeah since I already have that tranny, I'll probably just put that one into my wagon behind the EA81T I'm getting. It makes it that much easier for me since my wagon is gonna have a lot of modifications done to it.....but y'all will have to see when WCSS6 comes around cause thats when the holy Beer Wagon will get unveiled;)
  12. but what sort of modifications would I have to make to drop an EA82 d/r 5-speed in my wagon? Would I have to beat the trans tunnel out? What about cuttin the shifter hole to make it fit? I'm not big into the whole "Lets beat on it until it fits" method....but thats just me I guess:-\
  13. for some reason, there are some people that don't seem to realize that this is gonna go into a GEN 1 wagon, not a gen 2. Sorry but I just had to vent a little:D I want to keep my stock EA71 4WD shifter:brow:
  14. well I want to keep the interior looking kinda stock. I just like the 4wd lever for some reason, its hella COOL!! So an Accel SuperCoil works great I'm guessing then. I think a buddy of mine has one that he'd give me with the panel truck I bought from him. Radiator... would a EA82T radiator fit? If not what about an EA81T? Size differences between the two? Anyone know?
  15. aftermarket hubs that'lll fit our cars and I don't mean the stupid adaptor, I mean the real hub:D Either that or rims that will fit our cars 4 lug pattern that aren't either stock, Cal Masters, or something from Les Schwab that wouldn't really look good on my wagon. Axles that don't suck balls Short throw shifters Actual hop up parts like cold air intakes, internals (ie pistons, rods, etc.)
  16. dam thats pimpin! Makes me want to get a gen 2 Brat and paint an American flag on it:D
  17. well I found some pics of a volvo intercooler on the internet. So why will the 4-speed burn up clutches? Is it because of the gearing of the tranny? I already have a couple of them..... so why not use them? I could probably get a Centerforce clutch for it if I want to spend the money on it which is what I'll probably end up doing:D
  18. Lookin saweet man!!!! I can't wait until my wagon looks that good. Hopefully it won't be too long until then:D I love the color, it'll make that Brat stand out everywhere!!
  19. Well something came across my mind. Does anyone know if the: Spline count and size of the input shaft on the EA81 tranny are the same as the EA81/XT6 clutch spline count and input shaft area? If not, then I guess I'll be going with the EA81 4WD clutch and flywheel because I was told that they are bigger in size which would also make them more heavy duty. The reason behind keeping the EA81 tranny is because I can make it work with my stock 4WD lever. I want to keep the lever stock and because I like the look of the stock lever...I dunno why, I just like it and it completes my wagon the way it is. So I think I'm gonna go with a front mount intercooler out of a Volvo. Does anyone know the dimensions of one? Anyone have pics of one I could use as a model until I can get one? Thanks again guys for all of your help and advice for the "project":D Russ
  20. yes the wing is mine Tex. I will have to make a trip up in that area shortly to visit some people. I have to get a few days off from school to get up there but I should be up there within the next month I hope:D Thanks for gettin it for me
  21. Well we also have to keep in mind what car this motor/tranny is going into. Its a 79 wagon so it'll make it slightly lighter also. If I go with the XT6 clutch and flywheel, it should hold up to the power I'll be producing. I don't really want to make ungodly amounts of power (thats what my IROC-Z is for;)) but I just want to make it a nice little cruiser:D
  22. Thanks for all the excitment guys! This will be a pimpin ride when I'm done:D Anyways I have a few more questions.... 1. What year of soob should I get a 2 row radiator out of? 2. Will an EA82 or XT6 flywheel fit with an EA81 d/r 4-speed tranny? I3. gnition, What is the biggest Accel coil that is made and approximetly how much voltage does it create? 4. 2WD and 4WD flywheels. From what I've heard, there is a difference in size of the clutch disk but is there any diffences of the flywheel itself? Anyone have pics of both of them like side by side maybe? Thanks again guys, I appreciate it a lot!! I want to have a very quick EA81T in my wagon.....I can't WAIT till WCSS6 when I unveil my "lil beast"!!
  23. yeah pics and a price range would be great! If it in the right price range, I could be interesed or have a couple other people interested:D
  24. there was a couple years of the gen 1 brat body style that had EA81s in them but I believe those were like 80 and 81.
