I'm with you on that calebz. Maybe I should go buy a brat just so I can get one of these cool tailgates:banana:

also it helps if you clean out the fins in the radiator. Use a power washer or like a high pressure nozzle on a hose to clean it out really good

you're having problems with your heater? My 79 works like there's no tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't go out. I'll be a cold ride to school every morning in the winter:dead:

EA 81 Carter 1 bbl to Weber swap

then after you've pulled the old carb off, take it into the road and drop kick it a few times, beat on it with a sledge hammer and have someone run it over if they don't like their tires. Thats the best thing those carbs can do. I should know, I had one on my 83 hatchback and I could never get it to run right:madder: -
fill-up after Chevron Techron

93 here but just make sure you don't go to the one in North Albany because the old guy who works there doesn't like to put your gas cap back on and close your fuel door. Hondasucks drove from his house, got fuel, then drove 20 miles to my house with no gas cap. He went in the next day and they had it but he was a little pissed off:dead: -

A new use for a roof rack
Caboobaroo replied to soobme's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I know that like at Shucks and AutoZone, they have a kit where instead of hood pins, they're locks so you need a key to open it up. But I stil like the idea of charging the hood pins:brow: I was gonna do it to the manual locking hubs on my 76 Ford cause someone decided that it would be fun to lock my hubs in while I was at the store. Luckily I realized they were locked before something bad happened:madder: -
well if I were you, I'd start to look for a new turbo like very soon. Its ounds like the bearings are going out and if it flies apart while you're driving........dum dum dummmmmmm, you'll be :boohoo:
-
hmm so where is it exactly? What color (inside and out)?, how many miles? any pics?
-
you should also check the pressure springs inside the heads. If those become weak, it can also make the lifters clatter due to lack of oil pressure going to the heads.

well a buddy of mine down the street from Hondasucks gave us a 1982 Rabbit diesel. He also gave us the front and rear bumpers off of a GTI Rabbit so we could put them on. Well out of curiousity I decided to see if they would fit on my wagon. Well they do and it doesn't look half bad. They're gonna have to be modified to fit around the wheelwells but other than that, pulled off the front bumper and it fits right on. The rear also has to be modified a little but it has two ports at the bottom so I can run dual exhaust without having to cut it. Just lettin everyone know who has a gen 1 that they wanna "spruce" up a bit:headbang:

Wounded Loyale... HELP!
Caboobaroo replied to trooperjeep's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if ya need a 5-speed I know Hondasucks just pulled one out of his turbowagon (87) and its a 5-speed pushbutton 4wd. I think he might be lookin to sell it. I know it works. The reason for pulling it; we got an RX tranny (part time 4wd) and so we put it in. The 5-speed is clean and is in great shape, you'd just need a pickle fork cause the old one broke in half:banghead: -

subarus breed more subarus
Caboobaroo replied to archemitis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hondasucks got me into Subarus. First I started off with an 83 hatchback 2wd 5-speed that I bought from him for 200 bucks. Well before I knew it, I had traded it to a guy for my 79 wagon and I'm now looking at getting more (84 turbowagon 4wd) and maybe getting more. If only I stuck to my Camaros I wouldn't have all these Subarus............just lots of Camaros:D -
yeah its really weird. We're thinking about modifying the crossmember so it'll fit. Can't think of anything else to do:brolleye:

woah thats PIMP!!!! Hell yeah I wish that was a car they imported:brow:
