  1. Hondasucks might know. He converted his automatic 2WD '82 sedan into a mean 4x4 with a dual range 4 speed. You might want to get his attention.
  2. bump stops are the rubber pieces on the control arms that hit the car when the suspesion bottoms out. I'm pretty sure that they won't interfere but I'm not exactly sure. What year of wagon is it?
  3. its not like making an adapter is hard, it just takes a LONG time to get everything right so it all lines up. I was kinda thinking about putting an EA82 in my wagon but I would have to make an adapter.... hmmmm too bad you don't live on the west coast cause I would sooo buy your Firebird. It would look nice next to my Camaros:brow:
  4. I had an 83 hatchback 2WD that had a Carter on it.......I'm glad I got rid of that carb AND the car. It was more headaches than it was worth. If you've ever seen the inside of a Carter, there's a little hose that goes from the accellerator pump to the spray nozzle inside the barrel. Mine got a hole in it and it didn't like being cold or revving up to fast. I had to go to a hobby store and get the smallest airplane fuel hose that they had. It barely fit but it worked enough to trade it for my 79 wagon which is much cooler and its 4WD:D
  5. also remember to check the voltage drop in the charging system because if corrosion creeps up the battery cables and starts to eat them away, it will require the alternator to work harder and longer that it should resulting in burning up the alternator.:madder:
  6. hmmm.....turbo.......wagon......black door handles.......how about we like put it all together.......I think GD is right either that or someone put black door handles on GL turbowagon but I have this hunch its probably a GL-10 turbowagon.................rock on:headbang:
  7. hmm thats no good Mike. Was there ny sign of it on the way to Andrew's from Jason's house? It didn't seem like it but maybe I was still kinda waiting for the rest of my beer to wear off. heheh, oh well. I guess free replacement is better than having to pay for a new one.........................maybe you should pull the XT6 alternator at the yard tomorrow when you go back to look for Andrew's phone:brow:
  8. but what Andrew has told me, its best to use a mpfi for a turbo instead of a spfi. I don't know why that is but thats what he told me.......
  9. I've also heard that if you put about 2 quarts of diesel fuel in your tank, it helps clean out the carbon buildup on the valves and on the tops of the pistons. Your "knock" or also known as pinging can be caused from: carbon buildup inside the combustion chambers, the timing might need to be adjusted, or like Jon said, your O2 sensor, cap, rotor, wires or plugs might be bad but thats all tune up stuff and its good to replace them all at once.
  10. Hondasucks did one about a month ago on his 86 XT. It had really bad lifter noise etc. etc. WE changed the timing belts and the oil pump and the lifter noise stopped. It was quite a difference. I think he paid about 70 bucks online for it. The web address is http://www.thepartsbin.com
  11. nice. sounds like you're gonna have fun with it. I'm basically doing the opposite on my 79 wagon. I'm lowereing it and doing a panel job on it, welding the rear doors in and replacing the rear seat with a n amp and a sub box. You have a 91 Formula? thats awesome. I got 2 88 camaros, one of which has a police interceptor 350 in it. On your wagon, start looking into getting a lift kit for it if you already haven't started doing that.
  12. well Erik did it, I'm gonna do my wagon up like his pic that he did. So I'm gonna be the only one with a 1979 2-dr sedan delivery.....Just wait until WCSS6 when everyone will see it. There will be some guys there that won't know what the hell it is...... mwahahahahaha, oh yeah........................ dancy dancy dancy
  13. yes they had an 85 RX but I think only like 1500 were made. Richierich is parting one out right now come to think of it....
  14. since it sounds like your abs is fine, it now sounds like you might have either warped rotors or maybe the calipers are hanging up on the shaft that they slides on. When you had the brakes done, do you know if whoever did it put sili-glide on the pivot shafts that the calipers ride on?
  15. I've never used them but all I know is that they're really nice looking. I wish that they made them for my wagon:(
  16. well I figured out how to do it finally. If you look at your hoods and how the hinges go into the firewall, thats how I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna use a set of hinges on each door but the original hood hinges I'm slightly modifying to work. I'll see if I can get some pics of my plans but I thought about it for about an hours last night and thats what I came up with. Now the next part is to figure out how I'm gonna do my shaved doorhandles..............This wagon is gonna be soooooo pimp:banana:
  17. also check your fuel pump. It could posibly be bad too
