  1. 15" steelies + brand new Fuzion 195/60R15 tires = $188 I had the wheels when I did my 5-lug swap and they were free. I just put new tires on them and called it good until I get some nice LGT 17's but thats a little ways down the road. These will work until I move and then some. Beggers can't be choosers:rolleyes:
  2. So today I was debadging the rear hatch and low and behold, the whole car has been repainted and not very good I might add. Ugh, guess I'll have to shoot it when I get to Washington and find me a paintbooth I can use for a half a day...
  3. When thats the only exhaust I have, thats what I'm gonna run. That and it sounds nice and boxerish as well, no Honda farting here:grin:
  4. Shhh...:-p I got all black bumpers from my RX to put onto it, got my checkerboard seats and black center console in it with all of my stereo stuff, and I'll be gettin onto finishing my bodykit for it here and get it installed;) Plain is right, make its more of a sleeper:banana:
  5. Well since my thread over in the Retrofitting forum doesn't get as much traffic as the older gen forum, I decided to share some pics I got today of my coupe. '87 GL EA82 SPFI coupe. Was FWD 3AT, now FT4WD d/r 5-speed, locking center diff, full 5-lug conversion and lowered with Impreza coilovers. Flame on!
  6. Or else you guys are gonna come up here? What?
  7. YAY!!! I just drove her home for the first time. Tonight I finished up a few things to get it driveable but I still got a few other little things before she's ready for long roadtrips. Tonight after work, I gave it a good alignment, finished my carrier bearing mount and bled the brakes. I'm gonna get some more pics of it this weekend when I get it washed and cleaned up so stay tuned:banana:
  8. I'm gonna try and make it. Got the coupe fully driveable today but I still got a few items left to do... Got it aligned tonight, finished the carrier bearing mount, and bled the brakes. She drives down the road like a dream, even though the suspension is a little stiff:-\
  9. Yes, it has both an inner and outer wheel bearing and grease seal but I believe they are the same parts for the inner and outer...
  10. If the blower motor speeds are correct to what you're saying, then why wouldn't I have circuit 4 as well as 3? I have only 3 which is weird. I'll also give the ground wire trick a go as well for the wipers.
  11. Well it would be the easiest route besides having one custom made. Trying to make one fit from an EJ20 will be more problematic then its worth IMHO. Due to the actual physical size differences between the EJ20 and the EA82T, it'll require someone with some patience and awesome fabrication skills in order to get it to the point of working. Then you have the exhaust side of the turbo to thinnk about too. Get the turbo too high and the downpipe won't fit and get it too low and it'll hit the ground. That and side to side as well....
  12. not the switch cause I swapped it out with a spare I had. Its a 4 speed blower motor since it has the "OFF" button, plus one, two, three and four on the switch itself. I'll bust out my awesome FSM and check out the schematics on the wipers to see if I can diag the problem. I was hoping it might be a simple problem and I no longer have my spare steering column either... If its not fixable in the next few days, I'll live with it until I move *sigh*
  13. Since I've gotten the coupe running real smooth, I'm going to start doing some of the other repairs I've noticed since I've gotten it running. First off, the wipers. Both front and rear wipers don't seem to wanna park themselves, thus, me having to do some manual wiper parkage. Why is it doing this? Second, the heater controls. More like the fan speed which I think I know whats wrong but I wanna double check to make sure I'm right and what is going to fix it. Blower motor only works on the third speed and all others its dead. This is fixed by replacing the blower motor resistor right?
  14. Techworks Header for an EA82T with a modified flange to put either the stock IHIRB5 turbo on it or upgrade to a TD04... $400
  15. yes it is actually going to be a big PITA to do this swap. The front crossmember will also need to be swapped since its notched for the downpipe coming form the turbo (maybe its the uppipe but I can't remember). Also, you'll need the wiring harness and ECU as described, a set of FSM to help get you by, and a lot of patience. It would be a cool swap don't get me wrong but the EA82T doesn't have very much potential to be built unless you have a lot of $$$, time, and fabrication skills. Besides, its only 25hp more then your stock engine has so what would be the point? The EJ swap is about as hard, maybe less, wil cost about the same, and has more potential and more horses stock then the EA82T.
  16. The first couple pics in KingBobDole's thread. Silver coupe is mine, white RX is his. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=74011 Then some of the mods I've done to the car in my post over in the Retrofitting forum. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=72743 I have more pics and a nice vid of the car running but I haven't had time to get them uploaded yet. Maybe later this week after I get it closer to being driveable.
  17. OEM Subaru headgaskets for the EA82T. A little more expensive (I've paid anywhere from $50-$75 for them) but they hold up better to the boost of the turbo. If it was NA, Fel-Pro gaskets work just as good.
  18. Andy, you can get heim joints that are like the tie rod ends, where it has a stud already in the ball instead of trying to put a stud onto a plate which is then welded to the control arm. I used them when I raced electric powered race cars in highschool for steering setups.
  19. Jeff, IIRC, you were the one that told me when I was takign them that I should post them. I posted them all right:-p Got more work done on the coupe today. Got the dash back together and got my pedal box in and clutch cable adjusted. Now I gotta make sure everything is nice and tight underneath, get some new exhaust gaskets and finish up some suspension/brake/tire/alignment work.
  20. I had a Megan Racing 3" bellmouth on mine and I didn't have any clearance issues with it, but I didn't have a TWE header either. Just a stock header with a modified flange on it.
  21. There's still one in a yard here, exactly like mine was FWD 3AT and he wants $300 IIRC.... Maroon with a brown interior I think... Ace Salvage in south Laramie, just south of the interstate.
  22. For some help, make sure to use OEM headgaskets on the EA82Ts. Also, there is a sequence on how to torque the headbolts, plus 3 different steps with more torque as well. I was doing the last stage of torquing on my EA82T at 60 pounds instead of 47. I didn't have headgasket issues, I just blew the rings outta one engine (SPFI shortblock) and the oilpump went south on my other engine, resulting in 4 rod knocks and busted piston skirts:rolleyes:
  23. I know the '85 RX sedans had a production number of around 2500 IIRC. I heard that a few years ago, waaaaay before I got into EA82Ts. Black RX's are also rare since they were only made for half a year. Mine was an auto which I converted. Now, its new owner will take very good care of it.... Crushing it:Flame:
  24. Thanks Shawn. All I gotta do is remind Jeff about the tranny for his SVX and how I helped him out with it, both finacially and physically... Keith, that engine puuuuurs like a kitten. I had a brand new OEM oilpump and some newer timing belts and got it all put together Friday night, then today, I finished up a few little things I didn't have time to get finished the night before. I still need to put a timing light on it to get it where it should be but the engine is done minus an oil change before I leave. I still got a few small items to take care of but a friend of mine is currently in need to get some stuff done on his '91 K1500 before he moves back to Cali. He decided to break his leg while riding his dirtbike so he's a little immobile... So my car might have to take a break for a couple days since he's leaving on Tuesday but after that, its full steam ahead... again:rolleyes:
