I have an 03 OB and the engine ticks on cold mornings or when it hasn't been started for awhile. after it warms up, the ticking goes away. I took it to the dealer and he said that it was normal for this in Ohio. I had a 93 legacy before and it never did that. It this really normal for this engine model or should I pursue this matter with the dealer? I would appreciate any advice about this as the car is still under warranty and I would like to get it fixed if it is a problem. thanks danz75

My MIL has a GMC safari van and she had that same problem too. I traced the fuel lines from the tank to the engine and found that she had a ruptured line that ran from the tank to the vacuum cylinder as well as a pretty long hairline fracture on the return line. I wouldn't have found that out if I hadn't taken out all the fuel lines. So I ended up replacing all of them as well as a new filter and making sure that all clamps were tight. Thankfully, the interior has been fuel smell free since. If you can examine each individual line without have to yank them, you're really blessed with an easy job. Dirty messy job but worth the fix. Thanks for the info. The sound that the brakes make is a slight thumping sound whenever the brake pedal is depressed. It feels like the rotor may be slightly warped I think. You mentioned NGK stock plugs. Are they the platinum ones? Will it hurt to put in Iridium ones? danz75

Hi everyone, I own a 03 OB wagon 2.5 and bought it new. I haven't had any issues with it so far. Does anyone know what type of spark plugs are in these engines? I'm also looking to replace the air filter with the K&N filter. Any advice there? I recently heard a soft thumping sound coming from the rear left brake whenever I put pressure on the brake pedal. I'm trying to decide if it'll be worthwhile to take it to the dealer as I assume it will still be under warranty or to turn the rotor. Does anyone know of any major issues with the 03 OB wagon 2.5? danz75
