So you said another inch & quarter so what is your total lift? I am thinking about moving up into a 2000-2004 but want to be able to lift it like my current 91 legacy.

Well the boot is bad, and I figure if I am going to go in there I might as well change out the whole thing. Are the MWE Axles same quality as OEM? I have heard that aftermarket from parts stores are junk. I have outback lift on mine so need strong OEM grade or better. I have also been reading about two approaches to getting the axle out: removing the lower control arm popping the knuckle from the ball joint? Anybody try both and like one better than other?

It is a sad state for subaru. I have owned 11 roos, model years from 1976-1996 and have thought about upgrading from time to time but after the airbags blew on my 96 from a slight 2 mph hit I went back to older models. The best thing about roos have been their dead reliability that they don't seem to have anymore. I have taken many over the 200k mark but don't think I would touch any think after 1995 except maybe the H6?? I used to rave to everyone about how great roos were but then my dad's 02 and my brother-in-laws 03 were total pos. Both had external HG leaks, one at 42k, steering rack issues, wheel bearings, brake issues, etc. I am missing something here, where has subaru gone wrong??

Great idea on the 14mm, Larry Thanks! -
Are you looking at lifting a 97 stand legacy? I installed outback struts on my 91 legacy sits higher than 1st & 2nd generation outbacks now. Rides great, not issues at all after 6 months.

That is nice clean rig, auto gets good mileage??? Isn't it a 3 speed? I found that auto cut mileage by at least 5-7 mpg on my GL/Loyale roos.

So what did you use to get the 1.5 lift? Was it just the springs?

Is there a way to lift an 00-04 outback? I put outback struts on my legacy & sit higher than my buddies 02 now so he wants to go higher, what can he use for a lift.

Crap then I am too young to get one. So I ask here too, was their Front wheel drive models? Do they all have sunroofs? Best model years
