Since you treated the word "data" as a plural, which is correct, I'll try to help here:) The STI block has a lot of bolts. You will have to be much more specific if you want help. Also, most people here are into older Subarus. You may have better luck with IWSTI.com or NASIOC.com. The difference, of course, is that people here do a lot more of their own work and care a lot less about shiny things. What turbo are you using in this build? Jacob

Clutch and pressure plate
renob123 replied to True2Blue's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I went through a few clutch kits with my EJ swap. What I found worked best was a dealer XT6 kit. The EA82 stuff didn't work quite right with the SJR adapter. I know it may break the budget, but it worked for me. Jacob -
IBTL? I've had good luck with EMPI axles handling the Frankenmotor. Just make sure you buy them from a good dealer. Jacob

Rallitek sells an intake for cars of that vintage. You should ask them if nobody here has any other ideas. If you're looking for something pretty, that is. I know this isn't an answer to your question, but if you're looking for power, then the first thing you should do is cams from Delta. The hp/$ ratio is unbeatable. Jacob

Ok. I was thinking about the front only, and I was thinking the same thing as far as making the wheels stay in further since you're already changing everything else. Jacob

Don't the gold Brembos imply that it is STI suspension under there? Or lots of fabbing, I suppose. Jacob

I had a doctor appointment yesterday, so I have to catch up on work and such today. I was planning on going to this, but I doubt I'll get out on time. Jacob

Outback Auto is pretty well respected in the newer Subaru community. I've seen good things about their exhaust work on NABISCO lately. As for the clutch thing, I had similar issues using a normal EA82 clutch. I swapped to a dealer XT6 clutch, and now I'm happier. The tiny difference in specs seems to matter, or at least it did for me. It's hard to be scientific about it, though, since I change things on it all the time. Jacob

True, but I'd like to point out that I have 2 things they don't have. One of them is an actual desire to be the Chairman:grin: Jacob

Believe me. I've been thinking about that for years now. Jacob

Only 7 events this year? Any fewer than that, and it sort of negates me moving so much closer. Jacob

Thanks for posting this. Any additional pics of your progress on the tranny mount would be appreciated. Also, have you considered using the EJ crossmember with different holes drilled into it? Jacbo

Ed, Did anyone ever figure out if the local ORG events count for anything? I know people were going back and forth over it. Jacob

Addco sway bars for ea81?
renob123 replied to aaronxs400's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That's what I thought when I ordered it. That's what it ended up being. Jacob -
Addco sway bars for ea81?
renob123 replied to aaronxs400's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Can I use both turbo kits and get twice as much power? Seriously, Addco is a fairly legitimate company, and I'm happy with my purchase. That their products are sold on eBay (and other places) shouldn't keep anyone from buying something of theirs. Jacob -
Addco sway bars for ea81?
renob123 replied to aaronxs400's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I'd venture to say that the Addco front is sturdier than an EA81 turbo front. They make one for the rear too, but I have a Whiteline rear, so I never went for the Addco one. If you get one, I'd be interested in your impressions. Jacob -
Addco sway bars for ea81?
renob123 replied to aaronxs400's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I doubt I'll ever be totally happy with the suspension on this thing, but I'd say the upgraded swaybar helped. It's hard to be totally scientific, though. I went from stock, to EJ22 without front swaybar, to EJ22 with front swaybar. It certainly made a difference over having no swaybar at all, but it's hard to tell how much of an improvement it made over the stock one, since I also swapped engines around the same time. One thing to note for your setup is that the Addco swaybar goes below the exhaust, so you'll have to be crafty with your exhaust setup if it's not stock. Jacob -
Addco sway bars for ea81?
renob123 replied to aaronxs400's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have an Addco front swaybar on my EA81 Brat, so at least you know they exist. You can also get them on Summit or Jegs. I forget which one. Jacob -
Another parking brake cable question
renob123 replied to eVIL_NTT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The parking brake on EA81s only goes to the front two calipers. I'm a little surprised that one of those lines breaking would ruin your calipers, but then, I've never had my cable break, so I wouldn't really know. Jacob -
Seattle area Ej22 swap-
renob123 replied to Frankazoid's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Wow. $1,400 sounds about right for a shop, but if I spent that much on wiring, it'd be a PerfectPower standalone with launch control:cool: I'm not sure if Shean did his own harness or not, and I haven't seen him around in a while. Your best bets are Numbchux or GeneralDisorder. Jacob -
Help Please! - Direct Front Brakes Swap
renob123 replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
What he said is total BS, but I'm not surprised. When will your friend visit you? He may still have time to order from Rockauto or a good Subaru parts place like subarugenuineparts.com. Jacob -
I have the Bellevilles and bolts as well. How do you plan to handle the different spline counts between the diff and the axles of an old Subaru? Jacob
