  1. here's some more info on the ice racing, looks like it won't work out while Austin's here. http://www.glacierlakesqclub.org/
  2. Well, here we see the disadvantage to taking video clips with a cheap digital still camera, it was saving the last video while you were coming up, which is a shame, it looked very cool, your front wheel came up pretty high! as for the FWD Auto -> D/R 4WD 5-Speed swap, I don't really have any idea what I'm getting into, you can come learn with me!!! and I want to practically rebuild the motor while I'm at it!
  3. It would have been fun, elcaminokurt stopped in for a while in his dakota, it was nice to meet him. We had a great time, there a post somewhere about a meet when Austin comes in to town. E-mailed you the rest of the vids, Morgan!
  4. two vids: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3078&sort=1&cat=500&page=1 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3077&sort=1&size=medium&cat=500&page=1
  5. only pic we took, but I'll send a bunch of videos from the on-campus broadband tomorrow. sorry none of your wagon, tony
  6. I think it would be cool, subtle, but not unknown
  7. Agreed!!! That was much better than we are usually able to find around here! We all had a great time. I left my cable/card reader in Duluth, so the pics and videos (mostly vids!) will come Monday/tuesday when I have time. I don't think we even did any damage, beyond broken fog light on the impreza.
  8. I'm coming, with a carload, and probably at least one more (non-subie guys, but they love mud/cars/pizza), we'll be leaving here around 11:15, which should get us over there about noon, maybe a bit earlier. I'll be following Morgan's directions, which sound pretty clear, so I'll see y'all in the morn!
  9. I'm in, and maybe a friend or two, here's a map relative the rest of the cities, it's far enough away, I'll probably stay here if we do come, but we could do it last, then you guys could head out.
  10. don't quote me on this, but isn't there something on EA81's that needs a little, uh, careful sledge treatment, to allow the suspension to work properly? I don't have the time/patience now, but maybe poke around a bit.
  11. I wonder how that FMIC looks, I hope it doesn't stick out of the bumper like the last one posted up here, I wasn't a big fan of that :-\
  12. I like that idea, though the places I was thinking are more out west, I think you'd enjoy the swamp at my friends place , but anyway, sounds good.
  13. well, I need a new one anyway, if it's more cost-effective than haveing a local shop do one custom (I still have to get quotes on that) I'd be in.
  14. hey sinbin, and welcome! I've yet to see a brat in the minneapolis area, or up here in duluth for that matter. Join MNSubaru.com, we need more old-school representation!!! anyway, this sounds awesome, I won't be in town until Xmas eve, and will probably be leaving for vacation very soon after new years, so my vote would be sometime between then (who'd have guessed). Edit: oops I already said that
  15. looks like you've got some nice RX checkered seatbelts, er........wait
  16. I'm thinking this Saturday (11/27) during the day, maybe go out to eat before/after. anyone interested? And if it snows, that's cool too:brow:
  17. I have a few, two involve snow and my FWD 3AT wagon, and the other a destroyed balljoint/DOJ. All three in my friends yard. First, I was being the screwball teenager that I am, and was drifting in his driveway, well, I think this tells the story better than I ever could. Yes, I'm 2 feet from his driveway, and about 20 from the most major highway in the area! The other Loyale one was at his concrete parking slab, I decided I'd park it with the front bumper pushed into the snowbank, well, I pushed it a bit to far into said snowbank, and the front wheels came up off the ground. Go get the lawn tractor and a chain! And the third, I was flying through the swamp behind his house in my GL, and found a nice big rock, the hard way. Made a horrible sound, but no obvious damage. I later found out that it had sheared the nut of the end of the balljoint, which pulled apart in the flattest part of his yard, which, in turn, pulled the circlip/balls/cage out of the DOJ, making it almost completely undriveable, even in 4WD.
  18. No inspections here in MN, good thing too! And 15+ y.o. cars don't even have the mileage on the title. but there are a bunch of criteria for classic plates, I think everything over 30 or 40 can, but there are exceptions for cars newer than that.
  19. well I won't be getting back until the 23rd/24th, so maybe something between Xmas and new-years, I know of a few mild off-roading places, but I'm not sure what they're like when things are frozen/covered in snow, it may be fun to find out .
  20. I tore mine while offroading, and it was quickly filled with mud/sand/gravel, so the grease didn't come out, but the car started doing some crazy things, (jerking severly to the right, especially when accelerating). but usually, I would wait until it isn't just a torn boot, let that thing get good and worn out.
  21. I'll be in the cities (parents' house) over holiday breakThat'd be cool, the MNSubie/MNAudi groups usually plan/participate in some ice racing events on some local lakes, I'll keep you posted when more details are known.
  22. welcome, it's good to see another person from Duluth! now all you have to do is join www.mnsubaru.com (that goes for all you minnesota people!) maybe I'll see you around.
  23. I was looking at mine, and the rear disc setup I just bought, and was wondering if it would work, but I'm not anywhere near my car, so I have no clue what the other end looks like. hmmmm....maybe I should get that other set from you, probably not.
  24. looks fun, whereabouts is that/are you, looks like it could very well be up near me, !!! too bad those pics aren't higher resolution.
  25. Wagon Addicts Anonymous!!! amazing to see there are others with the disease too, and not just a few, victims are common here. I agree with MaxBrat, few people ever recover from an encounter with the USMB.
