MoganM, I knew you couldn't make it, so that's cool, but I've been seeing more people from minnesota on here lately, so I thought I'd post it up. elcaminokurt, don't sweat it, I didn't leave much notice. I'll be back in town Thanksgiving weekend, so we may go again, but I'll start a new thread when I know any details.   3. yea, you'd think that'd slow you down wouldn't you. Well, I already am running out of the money I saved to lift mine next summer, and almost spent it on an XT6 instead, still debating whether that was a good choics, that would've been cool. But I would agree, a third party is a big help!!
  4. welcome! I too learned to drive a 5-speed in my subaru, because of some communication problems, I didn't get the title (and therefore couldn't liscence it) on it for a couple weeks, so I spent that time practicing driving up and down the driveway, put it in 4 Lo, plus a slightly worn out clutch, and you almost can't kill it!!!
  5. What do you think of the True Dual exhaust? Would you recommend it, I think it would be cool, but many people say it won't help, even that you loose power. What do you think?

I will be doing the swap next summer (though mine will include a 2wd -> 4wd conversion, and other goodies ) but have been doing a bit of research, you will need the tranny and shift linkage (duh), but also the pedal box, and maybe even dash (though not necessary, but you don't need the P,R,N,D,2,1 lights on there) but it's been done before, and will be done again, so get some parts, and dive on in!!!
  7. Well, for starters, this should go in the marketplace. One question, you said it's a 5 speed, but it looks like you've got the dash from an automatic in there. That may have something to do with your strange lighting action.

Well, they're long from being installed on the wagon, but they've been sitting on the truck as long as I can remember (probably longer than I've been alive) and never worked, then I noticed they weren't wired in, so I put that thought with the one about that stock fog relay left on my car from when the lights were broken off. I pulled the lights off, and spliced the wires into the relay, and they both work!!! and well. What I'm wondering, is if the stock fog light system is actually a relay, and how should I mount these, just drill biga__ holes in my bumper and bolt them on is probably my best bet, short of some sort of a custum bumper

  12. Is that the one that was on Ebay last week? If so, we've been drooling at it for a while, and if it's not, we're drooling over it now!
  13. on an '85 GL D/R 5-speed Carby, every trouble code listing I can find don't have a code 13 on it (for carby motors, some for FI but.........). My ECS light has been coming and going for months now, but the car has been sitting for a few weeks, and I drove it for a while today, and the light was on the whole time, so I checked the code when I got home, 13, and that's it. WTF is it trying to tell me?!?

I posted this on the Minnesota Subaru Club site and got virtually ZERO response, I will be at my parents house in the western 'burbs of minneapolis this saturday, and am going mudding at a couple local spots with a bunch of my friends. Anyway, Saturday night 9 in Maple Plain (will be in Minnetonka before that if you would like to meet/follow me out from there). There will be an assortment of vehicles, with a variety of tune levels, my virtually stock 4x4 gl, a friends slightly lowered impreza awd, a fwd impreza, a wrangler, maybe a cherokee, etc. Anyone interested/available??? Post my Saturday morning if you'd like to meet me in mtka, otherwise, the MPFC at 9! there will be many cameras, so this will be very well documented, and will be very enjoyable, so check back next week for pics.

  17. I, too, have been contemplating this, how did you guys do it? lol, my car USED to have those factory lights under the bumpers, yea, I'll never mount anything I want in one piece down there again.

  19. you do know that the backlights on the dash aren't supposed to be on without the headlights/parking lights on don't you? cause if they are on, with the headlights off, then I wouldn't call that working fine. Or do they come on with the parking lights, then go off again with the headlights? Turbone, I just noticed, check the subject, it's a loyale, it has to be a later model. I would agree, sounds like a switch.

  22. true, however, those people probably haven't even heard of an RX, and if so, would probalby only be able to tell them apart by the decals, or if they were sitting right next to each other. but yea, I can tell, still looks great!!!

I don't know much, but the power is from cfm (cubic feet per minute), or how much volume you cram in the chamber, psi is an easy way to measure it, but 20 psi through a tube the size of your finger is less effective than 10 through one the size of your leg! cooling it off just makes it possible to get more air into the chamber WITHOUT that much pressure, specifically. As far as the throttle body, if it's not the bottleneck, than no, it won't help that much, but that's just speculation based on my limited knowledge of how cars work. Guys, please correct me if I'm wrong.
  24. well, I don't know personally, but since you seem to be having some trouble getting a response, check out MorganM's page http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=3 he's got 8.5"s on his, and I don't think he's done any trimming/pounding to the fender to make them fit, though he has cut the fender hope that helps a little
