  1. I'm in the process of chasing down some unexplained play in my front wheels at the moment and I suspect someone has fitted clearance bearings like 'C4' or something instead of what should be in there. I found some spare bearings I was given 'for the subaru' and they are 'C4' clearance rated, I suspect they were easier to get in the '2RS' rubber sealed type at the bearing shop and with our aussie 'nah she'll be right' attitude was told, "yeah mate, they're the ones" Does anyone know what the OE 906010015 bearings actually are? plain 6207 or something different like 6207c3? I cant see wheel bearings needing a high speed clearance rating like c3 or c4...I certainly don't want any slop! Anyones input on this is welcome, based on experience though...
  2. offset pins are very common, especially on short skirt pistons, if you put them the wrong way round, they will knock like a mofo. do you still have the OE ones?
  3. Did they have offset pins like the OE ones? I wish I new the part number of the OE ones for both RH and LH ones...they ARE a lot stronger than the long skirt ones that crack, but if you dont put them in the correct side they will knock, spin them 180' so the offset is correct and the oil grooves will be at the bottom of the bore...
  4. Do you happen to have any photos of this ITM piston kit you have?
  5. ...show him this: Subaru EA82 Head Crack Bulletin 02-88-93.pdf
  6. Well I guess I answered my own question, this is my spare one, with OE bushes in it, she's bent to buggery! From an XT so its not like its hooked a boulder or something - definitely needs strengthening! The 'added after MY series 'Stiffeners'' are a mere cosmetic joke! Gonna have to put some flat bar top and bottom or something, make an I beam out of this thing... And yes, according to part numbers, the XT6 one is different: I wonder whats different? Gauge of the plate?
  7. TK9 Gen3, Flat valve bridge but its been reco'd so I suppose a valley could have been filled... TK4 Gen1, Flat valve bridge but its been reco'd so I suppose a valley could have been filled... I found this pretty interesting...
  8. how about on a road car with poly bushings? would it bend from torque?
  9. Nico, have you had any trouble with the rear diff hanger or 'mustache bar' twisting sine you made its mounting bushes more solid? Ive heard stories but they don't make much sense to me... I figure if anything is going to twist it, your car would have done it...
  10. Has that diff hanger been strengthened? if so Why and How? thanks.
  11. has anyone heard of fitting these bushes to the diff hanger causing it to twist afterwards?
  12. any other pictures of this rail setup? me likey
  13. What do you think of the gaskets, no weeps or leaks around the outside? The brass rivet on the top, does that foul on anything?
  14. Any news on the head gaskets, how'd they go?
  15. I'm keen to see the other post referenced - the EA82 head on an EA81 thread and different valve sizes in a GEN 3 head thread... anyone have the links?
  16. this thread covers EA82T or MPFI heads, but it may help... http://www.ausubaru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15810
  17. If you don't want them, please pass his details on to me via PM. thanks.
  18. Have you tried putting the ER27 'front' on the EA82 block yet? What I mean by that is the cam wheels, all the idlers and tensioners, crank pulleys, inner and outer cases... Because if they fit, that would make the oil pump and water pump a 'direct fit'
  19. By the way, are you happy with the MLS head gaskets?
