  1. https://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/5475884951.html For 15k it can be yours.
  2. Pretty mint for an east coast car, looks like it still has the original exhaust.
  3. First thing to do would be to take many pictures, then post them here. Second drain and replace all fluids, new battery, ect, ect.
  4. looks like your building the perfect pizza delivery car, the trunk warmer option.

Here are a couple of my VW rides. I also have a 1956 Bug in the works. Thesamba.com has a lot of info on doing the Subaru conversion. Good luck with your project.
  6. http://www.pefp.com/make/Subaru.html I have had good results using this brand, can get through rock auto on the cheap.
  7. just run it on denatured alcohol when you show up for the test.
  8. Is your emission test a tailpipe test, or is it a plug in test. If its only a tailpipe test, just run it on denatured alcohol.
  9. Tried searching, did not find anything. Just wondering if this has ever been attempted, or is it impossible.
  10. Here's my hack to add a Cyclops Light to your EA82 Subaru. Get yourself some el'cheapo Walmart lights the size of the front grill emblem. Cut out the grill emblem, and stuff the light in the hole. (diamond plate, and wire stone guards optional) Adjust the aim, and off you go. The Gen 3 Cyclopes option that Subaru did not offer, (but it should have) .....Hack on!
  11. I use black silicone. Even if I could find replacement gaskets, I'm too worried about breaking, or chipping the glass doing a replacement job. Unless you really know what you are doing glass breaks very easily. A tube of silicone and a box of rubber gloves is all you need.
  12. Looks like you have a Logan's Run equipped Subaru. When the green light turns red (at age 30) watch out for the Sandmen in your rear-view mirror.
  13. did you replace or inspect your throw-out bearing when you did your clutch job?
  14. that looks like a fuel filter for an ea82 fuel injected motor. I would just go with a generic filter for a carburated motor.
  15. Welcome to the lifted red wagon club, Where did you get the headlight eyebrows for yours?
  16. I usually go with a generic fuel pump, and put an in line filter before the pump. I have had good results using this brand in my subarus, take a look for yourself. http://www.pefp.com/make/Subaru.html Rock Auto lists the P17 generic fuel pump for under $30
  17. Thanks for the feedback. Decided to pass when I found out the car failed emission testing. The car would need a computer pass, not old enough to simply do a tailpipe test. I guess I will be sticking to the EA82's until I find an EJ's mature enough to be exempt from computer smog testing.
  18. So after years of owning EA series subarus, I finally may purchase a EJ. The car I am considering is a 1999 Legacy Brighton EJ 2.2 with a 5 speed manual tranny. It has high miles, 200,000 but is dirt cheap. It needs a muffler and a break job. Any tips from you EJ guys on what to look for. I'm going to take a look at it this weekend. any feedback or tips appreciated, also how is Awd in the snow vs 4wd
  19. So my 88GL heater fan is only blowing with speeds 1-3. To get speed 4 to work I have to press down on the knob. I don't think it is a relay issue, just the knob/unit on the dash is worn out and needs replacing. So how can I replace the control knob/unit on the dashboard without tearing up the whole dash? I'm thinking if I pop off the square access port next to the knob unit, I can then pull out the unit through the square hole. (if it is indeed a square hole behind the cover plate) Any ideas? Anyone done this before?
  20. Your on the right track, here's what you need to complete your project: (listed in order of importance) 1. 5th wheel in the bed. 2. Smokestack pipes (with the rain-guard flappers or don't even bother) 3. Mudflaps : trucker girl or Yosemite Sam "back off" (either choice will work) 4. CB radio and fan (must be attached to the ceiling of the cab, no hiding it under the dash) 5. Peterbuilt, Kenworth, or Mack re-badging, (I'd go with Mack, and include the bulldog hood ornament) 6. Sidestep with boot brush (gotta keep your floor-mats clean.) Keep on truckin'!
  21. Well I think the mystery is solved. The alternator starting lobeing so swapped it out . Now it re-starts after running no problem. I guess the voltage regulator in the alternator was faulty, and it gave the wrong voltage at start up when hot.
