  1. Hey Tom! I hope your wagon is still coming along nicely. Mine is getting there. I was wondering if you might happen to have an extra 4 speed dual range trans you might be looking to get rid of. Mine is starting to make a bit of noise and has developed a pretty significant leak. Thanks again Tom.

  2. That thing is sweet! I hope to see some more of this little car. I'm sure if you spent some time buffing on that, the silver would bling like new!
  3. Ford escort seats are an easy swap. It was easily one of the best things I've done with my wagon. I used front seats from a `97 escort wagon, would have liked some from a GT, but couldn't find ones that would match. use your stock ea81 seat rails, and oval out the rear holes about an 1/8 inch. Then simply install them on to the escort seats. They fit great and are way more supportive than the worn stockers.
  4. I'll make sure to send you some once I get the drivers side done. I gotta do a wash and wax on it too, I'll make it look real good for you so you can use them on your ebay ad. I feel like a doof driving around with them only on one side, but havn't had time to get it finished. I have been getting way more attention with them on though, its like a whole new car!
  5. Damn! That air cleaner looks sweet! I wish my engine bay looked that good.
  6. The spare is looking good! so are you still going to do the 6 lug swap?
  7. Thanks guys! My next big project will be restoring the H wheels and buying new tires. The Fox is coming together nicely.
  8. Well, I got the decals installed on the passenger side, but have not had time to put them on the drivers side yet. I'm pretty damned happy with it. Pooparu is the man!
  9. I've gone with seats from an escort in my ea81 wagon. It was fairly easy. I used front seats from a `97 escort wagon, would have liked some from a GT, but couldn't find ones that would match. Then use your stock ea81 seat rails, and oval out the rear holes about an 1/8 inch. Then simply install them on to the escort seats. It was super easy, and they are much more comfortable
  10. Good find on the paint for the air cleaner, I'll be adding that to my "to-do" list.
  11. I got a box in the mail today from Pooparu. Looks like this weekend I'll be spending some time with some decals. I managed to do new front wheel bearings on Sunday, along with a new fuel filter. I also had a tire patched because I picked up a nail some where. These decals look sweet though! Once I get some free time this weekend I will get some good pics and make a better post on all the details of putting them on. I can't wait!
  12. pics should be working now. Thanks for the info on the lights!
  13. and here's some pics. here is the legacy rack sitting on the `84 DL I'll paint it after I actually figure out how to mount it. not too bad for $10 also, my new driving buddy. We found him up in the sand. I figured he would be a good fit with the desert theme.
  14. Updates: the white letter tires are no more. After the 400 or so miles of driving I did last weekend, they were still looking good. It wasn't until I ran around on the sand dunes that they wore off. I'm not too suprised. I guess I'll be painting them again and staying off the sand. I purchased new wheel bearings and seals for the front left. Any tips on that job? I've never even attempted doing pressed in wheel bearings. I picked up a complete roof rack from a `95 legacy this morning, and I think with a little modification it is going to work. I wanted one from a forester, but it is too long. I am also looking at some additional lighting. What does everyone think of these? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TWD5KU/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002MOED46&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0RKAFYMGH7F36KQEFYA7 Last but not least, I am still waiting for the desert fox decals to come in. Pooparu told me he would be shipping them this week, I hope to see them soon. I am really excited for those guys.
  15. Rust, Your sedan there is awesome! I would love to have one like that some day!
  16. I had one with the same options as this, but I've also had a loyale sedan with the oil and volt gauges
  17. I've got two 13in jackmans with old school studded snows on them, I don't think I would ever use `em though.
  18. Looking good! I am trying to get a hold of the guy that runs the JY i told you about with the other Ski wagon. I might make a trip up there today. I'll get plenty of pics if I do. If it looks workable, I might try to pick up the whole car, But I'll keep you in mind for parts/
  19. My `84 DL is all stock. I run 10psi in my front tires and 8 in the rear. It gets around in the sand pretty well. My biggest problem is a lack of power when climbing really tall dunes. I should do the EJ swap, but that's another topic.
  20. Well, I made a trip back and forth to Lansing friday night. I averaged 29mpgs, not too bad! I did mostly 65mph while on the highway. I am happy with that. The DL keeps making friends. Here it is with it's long lost step brother. an 84 isuzu p"up On a side note, I love the old Isuzus. This one just turned over to 35k original miles!
  21. ..Or perhaps you have rear adjustable struts and they are adjusted all the way up?
  22. thanks Loyale. Here's another shot with my cell phone. I need to get a better camera. Depending on how my Sunday goes, I may be going to a JY here and getting a forester roof rack to fit to my roof. I've had zero luck finding a stock replacement. I also plan on checking my timing on Saturday.
