  1. after re-reading that, it says 85-94, but i believe 82gl4 said he had used those for his wagon. I could be wrong on that though.
  2. http://www.rustrepair.com/index-mf.html looks like this place has them
  3. seriously though, that thing is way too cool. What's the plan?
  4. We need pics! maybe the rest of USMB is more excited about this one than you?
  5. Well, I didn't want to be that guy, but how about some Subaru from the other side of paradise?
  6. I'll probably make it out there this weekend. I'm sure they won't charge more than $5 for it, I'll keep you in the know. also, this!
  7. Driving my new ea81 is great. I've only had ea82s and an outback, but now I think I like the ea81 the best. The `87 hatch I pulled the axle from yesterday had a good working hood latch. I can grab that no problem. The only issue was the interior handle for the hood release was busted. Can't wait to see some pics.
  8. Good to hear the ski team car isn't a wreck. I was thinking about emailing that seller but wasn't sure how I would get it back from WI. I was at a JunkYard yesterday pulling an axle for my `84 DL and was telling my friend about it. He reminded me that we saw one of those Ski team wagons in another junkyard about an hour north of here around a year ago. If i remember correctly it wasn't in too bad of shape. I'm kinda strapped on cash for the next week, but hopefully I'll be able to make it up there again in 2 weeks to see if its still there. I'll bring my camera and if it has anything worth while I will keep you in mind.
  9. Its actually not a native to MI. I was told the original owner brought it here from some where out west. Not sure where, but I'm not too concerned either way. Today's project will be getting the odometer working. I noticed that it works if you hold in the button that resets the trip gauge. I hope it just needs some cleaning. I guess we'll see once i pull it out.
  10. did you have plans for center caps on those new wheels?
  11. Bum deal on the gl-10. It sounds like walking away from it was the best thing to do. That Ski wagon would be way more fun in my opinion. Good luck!
  12. Those wheels look real slick. I can't wait to see them on the car!
  13. thanks for the compliment. Yes, I'm looking for the left tail light, and also the roof rack and trim is missing. I would love to find a factory style push bar for it too. I commute through an area that is notorious for deer hits and would like a little bit of protection.
  14. Thanks on the tip Tom. I'll give that a shot later today when I have it in the garage. I'm changing out the passenger front axle. This winter definitely has been weird. I've never seen Muskegon Lake unfrozen all winter like this. Not complaining though
  15. After being out of a Subaru for almost a year now, I have fallen back into the game. I recently found a pretty clean `84 DL 4x4 wagon, and jumped on it. I paid $1150 for it. I don't think it was a bad price considering how hard these things are to find here in MI. I know shipping one in similar shape would have been about that much anyways. Plans for now are to get it back into fighting shape with a few needed maintenance items. Then after doing some repairs on my `87 Toyota van, I will have the time to give it a proper repaint and restoration. Here's some pics. I can't say enough how happy I am to have finally gotten my hands on an ea81. gotta love Michigan's winter. These pics were a day apart. Also, anyone have Ideas on why my gas gauge seems to be all over the place? At full it reads 3/4 and doesnt really make up its mind from there. I am also in need of a left tail lamp if anyone has one they would part with.
  16. Good luck and safe travels on the way to pick it up!
  17. I'd love to catch up with you guys too, and see one of the safari wagons in person. Cant wait to see were you go with this GL10, your Loyale is probably my favorite ea82!
  18. Heya Tom. Thought I should say hi, I've been back lurking on the usmb again. I finally got a hold of a clean ea81 from out west. Hope the wagon project you were working on is going well and the BRAT is still treating you well. You wouldn't happen to have a passenger tail light for an `84 wagon would you?

  19. hey pal. I thought I red in a post that you're from west Michigan. Don't worry, there is a lot of subie love here, you just gotta know where to find it. I have an 84 4x4 Dl myself and am in Muskegon. Too bad we're not getting much snow, but I'm glad its keeping the salt off my car too.

  20. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=100559 GD's write up
  21. Hey hey Tom. I havn't been around USMB much lately. I took a job with the DNR as a park ranger up in Silver Lake. I've also gotten rid of my GL, the rust had gotten too far. I'm still on the look out for one if you hear anything. take care
