  1. I really doubt it was rpm related. I was taking it easy at 65-70mph on the highway. It ran great until I stopped to take a leak, then getting back on the highway It seemed under powered. Then after about 40 miles it gradually lost power until I had to admit defeat and tow it.
  2. Looking good. Might not hurt to carry a fire extinguisher as well just in case those rubber lines give you trouble. When you get to the shifter I can show you what I did with mine.
  3. Option 2 but use some big washers. I've done that and used grade 8 hardware. The brat I did it in does lost of two tracking with fat dudes in it and it seems fine.
  4. Did you already get your replacement doors and stuff?
  5. Could you use the arches from front fenders to patch your quarters?
  6. I dont think the H6 was available with a manual trans.
  7. I tired this with the 14in steel spares but our tire machine couldn't pull the temporary tire off the rim.
  8. Tdodge41 and I went in on this `84 GL for parts. Honestly, we havent pulled many parts off of it because its been a fun off roader. I installed some 205/60/13 tires on freshly powder coated wagon wheels, and have gutted the interior. It needs some floor work, and the rear bumper and frame rails are long gone, but id love to see it built up to run on the sand dunes. We call it the Swamp Rat
  9. I've been through a lot of this lately as well. christmas eve the engine in my truck seized up, so The Desert Fox, my `84 DL has been my main transport. I'm lucky that I can carpool some days, but others its a 62 mile round trip. First it was the lack of heat that was getting to me. I ended up patching multiple holes in the floor, what was left of the rockers, and door bottoms. Then had to fill all the voids with expanding foam to try to keep the heat in. It was just this weekend that I realized i had put a few self taping screws through the cars harness to the rear. I had one tiny nick in a bunch of wires, that had been corroded from the hole in the rocker. This caused a miss diagnosed bad fuel pump, that i had to replace while laying in the snow last week. So yesterday, i spent some time fixing wires and adding my steel to the floor and more spray foam to the voids. I've also now got a failing rear diff mount, and dont know where to get a replacement. I really wish I could just retire the old Fox to sand dune and summer duty, but it keeps my commute interesting if anything.
  10. WELCOME! I'm up in Muskegon, and I have parts if you have any needs
  11. there is the factory fog light switch that you're probably missing.
  12. Seems like MI sos is getting more particular about insurance. I never had to show proof of insurance in the past when just transfering a valid plate to another car. The past few times they were picky. I've got three plates to renew next week before my bday. I hate it. Happy Birthday, give us more money.
  13. Text me if you still have my number. I know a junkyard about an hour north that has two ea82 wagons. he might have a replacement
  14. Glad to hear its back in use. 10 months in a cavalier is 10 more than I would want to drive one for.
  15. cool update, your old wagon looks nice, and I love the plaid! is your `86 still in action?
  16. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! I was saying have the front rotors turned or replace them. They were causing a shimmy while hard braking. Good luck with it!
  17. Car just left for a new home. On to the next project!
  18. Updates: I scored a Yakima Load warrior rack, along with some gutter mount cross bars for this not too long ago for $75, and Spuds Mckenzie has a new home mounted to the top. I also have been driving the hell out of this old girl. We did 1200 miles over a long weekend trip to my cabin in the Upper peninsula of Michigan. and as always, I've been running it at silver Lake sand dunes with absolutely no troubles. I recently switched to Firestone Winterforce snow tires, and couldnt be happier.
