  1. If the starter is on top, the motor isn't an 84 The last year for starter on top I believe was 81 or 82. After that all the EA71's were "fat case" and had the side/corner mounted starter. I haven't ever seen a dual range top mount tranny myself, but they may exist. Twitch
  2. Try blasting compressed air through your heater system. The core fins could be packed with dirt and crud. And the back flush works good, but it works even better if you put vinegar through the cooling system first. No, it doesn't hurt anything. Just pour about 2 cups or so of vinegar in your radiator and drive it for a while, then back flush the system. You'd be amazed at what comes out. Twitch
  3. People liked the dirt and crumbs? Thanks again to the staff and judges! Twitch
  4. WOO! Amazing show this year guys and gals. Staffers, amazing job wit the show. Saw a bunch of amazing cars and greatly appreciate all those who attended. Especially our east coast crowd. I could never do what you guys do. Twitch PS: Thanks so much for the trophy and thank you Russ for not bringing your car
  5. Can somebody pinpoint the cheapest premium in the vicinity of the meetup point? I have plenty to get there, but the trip down will probably enpmpty my tank the rest of the way, and I really don't feel like testing my gas mileage this far from home Twitch PS: Just saw a fellow WCSS attendent in a blacked out lego GT.
  6. Just hitting E-Burg. Hope I can make it there by 1:30... Twitch
  7. Hitting a massive storm at the gorge. Lots of gray. Lots of black too... Twitch
  8. So, just for route verification, my best way to go would be I-90 to Highway 18, then onto I-5 and hit the mall from there? Twitch
  9. Just passing Ritzville. ETA to Destination 3.2 hours. Twitch
  10. Speed check in Spokane by Pull and Save, right after the Evergreen exit, next to P&S. Gray unmarked tagging people with a full mark making rotations. Twitch
  11. I am en route. Just leaving Coeur d'Alene, heading west on I-90. Skies are cloudy, with intermittent showers/sprinkles. Expected cruising speed: 72.4 MPH Large police presence on the Idaho side of things. Snacks prepped and iced. Drinks the same. All good over here. Twitch Out. PS: Thank god for rain-x
  12. And so it begins... Was up until 2 (aka 4 hours ago) working on the car, so lets see how well I can remember my head "Rubber duck, this is Big Ben, do you copy?" Twitch
  13. Good call Rob. I've been rear-ended twice and really don't feel like having it happen again. Ever. So lets keep following distances to the point you would if you were following someone you don't know, in the rain... Twitch
  14. T-MINUS 35 HOURS TO TAKEOFF. Have to clean up my sunroof and reseal it redneckishly (scrap steel and JB Stick) so I don't get rained on for the show while in my car, because that would SUCK. No time to weld it properly. Fresh Oil Change tomorrow night, all fluids topped up and spares in the trunk. All my camping crap (sleeping in the car this year) and coolers should be loaded tomorrow night. I can't wait for this. I finally have a car that I will have some form of hearing left at the end of the trip! And power! 65-70mph is peak torque for the EA82T Oh and I have to put the interior back together. Rust cleanup required the removal of the whole upper interior... Twitch
  15. I'm going to oval them with a same sized drill bit as the hole, just grinding out the side that needs more space. That way I only have one plane to worry about when remounting rather than multiple. Twitch PS: Or I may just build a custom intake using my old manifold.
  16. Want to keep your rubber door seals clean and moisture free? Silicone spray and high quality paper towels. Shoot the door seams with the silicone and the wipe off the excess and rub it in a little bit. Keeps those doors free of ice in winter and helps dirt and such slide right off. Cleaning your windows? Use washer fluid in a spray bottle and newspaper. The newspaper won't leave any fuzz and washer fluid is the same stuff as windex, if not better. Twitch
  17. Ditto. Wouldn't mind seeing you early this year Yeff. Twitch
  18. I think it should be in an age verified "adults only" section... Twitch
  19. Mykey, how have you been missing out on all this pron??? Twitch
  20. I'm worried about airflow. I may end up filing off the edges of the intake when I bolt it up so it flows better, if I have to oval the holes. Twitch
  21. I have already accounted for this in a conversation with Delta. I had a torque grind applied to my cam, which takes approx .030" off the cam lobe. In my removing .030" off my head/block surface, I have minimal adjustments to be made to my valvetrain My biggest monster is going to be the intake. Which may be getting cut down to fit with some custom piping, or I may just make a custom manifold. But thank you for the reminder Also, on break in, I already have break in oil in mind. I'll be switching to Schaffer's once Its all broken in and happy. Twitch
  22. Possibly, but I know I'll be dealing with intake fitment issues and the compression ratio won't be much of an issue with .030 missing in total Twitch
  23. Try an Altrom (official brand is Tama, Japanese made) from Napa. I just picked up one for $15 (ok less, but that's our retail on it ) for the XT turbo and it spec's the same. Part number is 154-0702. Works great so far, opened way better than my original 162k thermostat that was trying to kill my motor... Twitch
