  1. Ok, does anybody have the O-ring sizes off hand? Napa didn't have a rebuild kit available, and that makes me think that Schmucks/O'reelys won't either. So what exactly are the sizes I'll need for the pump? Twitch
  2. OH SNAP! Twitch PS: I guess I deserved that one...
  3. Ok... So you are wanting to trade information for tricks in the shop? Sorry pal, but we freely swap info on here, and if you look around, you'll see that. And I'm pretty sure many of us know more about computers than you think So, here's my free tip for the day: Start learning to share freely, and others will share freely with you as well. Also, welcome to the USMB, please don't make an @$$ of yourself right away... Twitch
  4. Good call, yeah, I had the same issue with my 85 BRAT. I had smoked the main fusible link. I just replaced mine with a 60amp stereo fuse. 10 gage wire clips will clip right onto the big fuses, then all you have to do is adapt to your main plug. Although a breaker would be a better option, price wise, a fuse is gonna be cheaper in the here and now. Twitch
  5. You could look for a Subaru Tribeca, but they are probably pretty rare around there. I agree with Brent on this one though, a Honda Odyssey is probably your best bet, maybe a Toyota Sienna. But considering recent throttle issues, I would search for a cable driven throttle, not a drive-by-wire. Twitch
  6. The major difference between the two is size. The second gen toppers are larger and as was mentioned, have a slightly different slope than the first gen's. And if it seems to not fit quite right, try readjusting it, these toppers almost never sit perfectly. From my experience, the first gen topper will scratch the crap out of your second gen and not fit at all. It'll be too short and too narrow. The second gen's are too large and will hang over the sides and scratch the crap out of your first gen, usually. It depends on the build of the topper and how wide the rails are. But it definitely won't look right, as it will stick out at least a couple inches from each side of the body. And they came in a variety of heights, first gen and second gen. There are high toppers, low toppers, and I've even seen a tonneau cover. Twitch
  7. You didn't exactly post whether or not the losing coolant issue was gone, so I would check your intake manifold gaskets, as you mentioned your intake was filling with coolant. Also, a radiator flush would probably help your cooling problems. Good luck getting your Trike running reliably Twitch
  8. Something I just realized, you bought that car from the county I live in. I might have seen it around here... Hope you get it going soon! And please ignore the comments from the peanut gallery. Twitch
  9. Rebump I was just looking to rebuild my oil pump, as my oil pressure has sucked since I bought the car, and I'm going on a 500+ mile roadtrip in a couple weeks. Thanks to all who posted up the info. I will definitely be replacing those O-rings as well as the mating gasket. Twitch
  10. I got to change my tire in the Taco Bell Parking lot, cuz my tire finally decided to drop enough pressure make that nasty "flat tire noise". Gawd, another thing added to the list of crap I have to do to Xandra. Oh well, she's less than 200 miles away from 300k. She deserves to be high maintenance. Twitch
  11. Yep, sounds just like wheel bearing failure. Hope you get it fixed before the bearing either grenades or seizes. Twitch
  12. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT WHEEL THIS. If you want to wheel something, get a beat up one with 150k+ on the clock, and beat the snot out of it. This is one of the gems that should be treasured and garaged. Do not get me started on how hard it is to find something that nice. Unless you want an angry mob at your door step, physically relieving you of your hatch, DO NOT MODIFY THIS CAR. Twitch
  13. Ummm, you're forgetting the gas tank and the driveshaft. And the axles. And its also dependent if its an EA81 or EA82. But anyway, they're very common and only wanted for their fuel economy. Otherwise, get a 4x4 and ignore the 1-2 mpg drop. Twitch
  14. It still may be your bearings. Mine sound like the sound you describe when I make a corner. The best way to check your bearings is to pop the axle out and check them out visually and to play with them. I highly recommend wearing gloves when playing around with bearing grease. If there is any play at all in the inner race, replace them. And don't forget to check both the inner and outer bearings. There is a writeup in the USRM for bearing replacement, and yes its for EA cars, but the principal is the same for EJ's. Twitch
  15. Yes, I have, but I really don't want to have to rewire an entire car. Esp one that has that many accessories. If I was going to go that route, I would probably just find a USDM that had the front end mashed up and just chop it off wherever the JDM was cut at and weld it up, with necessary supports of course. Twitch
  16. I like to use that sandpaper in a jug, pumice orange hand cleaner. For both topics actually. it works great for ripping off all that grease and crap (not to mention some skin if you're not careful ) And it eats grease really well in the wash. I just put some on my greasy clothes, scrub it in, and let it sit for a little while before throwing it in the wash with the rest of the clothes. Or, if you really want to be super OCD about it, you can just hand wash your work clothes with your choice of chemicals. I do sometimes when there is a really stubborn stain. Twitch PS: Just don't let your wife/significant other catch you squirting the pumice hand cleaner in the laundry, they usually freak out if you haven't explained to them what its for.
  17. Bingo, hit it right on the nose. They were all USDM and almost all of them were built in the US. Only a small number were built in japan, and those were the earliest ones. Twitch
  18. OMG!!!! YES!!!! Finally! I was having withdrawals and starting to get irritable, and twitching... Twitch(ing) PS: x infinite
  19. I've heard about the horror stories of the Skylines But I don't have any emissions to fight with. And the shipping companies I've priced will ship it to LA. I know, smog nazi's down there, but it would only be received in LA. But I'm still working on finding a certified importer who can legally make a car EPA, NHTSA, and FMVSS compliant. Thanks for the offer, but right now I'm just gathering info, don't quite have the cash as I haven't even gotten to start training But as soon as I get into training and start working I will have the money really fast, like, within a few months Twitch
  20. Kodak is currently sponsoring Photobucket, so that may be why you're seeing the funky color scheme. Nice. That'll be awesome to see drive when its all done. Twitch
  21. I'm looking at importing either a Lego Wagon or a Forester. Preferably a Forester, as they are bigger, have more ground clearance, and overall more capable for mail delivery. Not to mention I can get one for $500 Twitch
  22. I'm sure some of you have seen my thread about needing a RHD vehicle or parts. Well, I found a website that imports vehicles. JDM prices FTW!!! Anywho, has anyone tried to import a vehicle lately? I've been researching and am having a hell of a time finding any info on bringing car up to EPA spec. I think that's my last hurdle, please correct me if I'm wrong. I've got links to importing companies, shipping companies, and ports that handle vehicles. Without bringing it up to EPA spec, its currently going to cost me about $3k to buy, import, and ship/drive the car to my house. Any other suggestions? Twitch
  23. Dude, you linked to your documents folder... But sweetness divine on getting the EJ D/R. I was wondering who got that. Twitch Edit, ok you changed it. But no, I haven't been having any problems with photobucket.
  24. True that, but he's gotta know anybody who knows him from AutoX or of him from whatever Forums he's on will sooooo want to race. I know I would, in my stock BRAT Twitch
  25. I broke my BRAT's clutch cable So I had to switch my insurance over to Xandra. Twitch
