Nah, no racing, just a little extra hp under the hood
And that stinks (and I bet it really did O_o)
And fixing stuff in zero degree weather is NO fun.
I had to repair a swing arm in a 20* shop, with below zero windchill outside.

It actually has the non-interference EJ22
And I think the power is fine, just a touch more from a flowmaster exhaust,
or a magna flow and maybe a port'n'polish and it'll make enough power
to NOT go in the ditch
And if you used JB weld on your exhaust, why not just wrap some
aluminum duct tape around it and call it good? :-p
I know some guys who have done it...

Yes, yes they are.
And can you imagine a BRAT rolling on those?
It would be unmissable.
And, well, my lego had been out of commission for quite a while before I
got my BRAT, and well, I looooved the way my BRAT drove, rode, handled,
ah man it was awesome!
Then when the BRAT strarted having issues I got an 87 GL wagon.
Ride was softer, but the seats were a bit less comfy and it sagged, reeeeally
bad around corners.
Then after I got my lego going, I've been driving it, and its like riding in a
luxury car, but with no handling whatsoever.
Its like a log rolling over when I corner.
I hate it. But I gotta get new struts on it before I can really complain.
And if I'm gonna buy new struts? why not go for the wrx sti suspension?

I agree, first gen lego's look gnarly lifted with big tires.
Link? Ohhh, THIS link... http://www.mattracks.com
Actually, I had only ridden in a subaru once before I bought my lego.
And that was a 30th anniversary edition lego sedan.
Beautiful car, rode like a caddy.
My lego was a bit more... Utilitarian?
Lets just say riding it was a bit rough in comparison (Until I got my BRAT)
But check out those tracks, you may want some

Plus I'll NEVER get stuck with tracks.
I'll be able roll right over any snow piles or jeeps stuck in the snow
And they have street legal tracks available so I have no need to swap out to standard
wheels and tires between mud runs!
But I would for the fuel mileage if I needed to use it for a DD.
And just remember that outbacks started in 96

Actually, the tracks are top on the list behind the tranny, cuz they're an
instant, bolt on upgrade.
They're like 5 grand for a set so I'm gonna be saving for a while, but it'll be
worth it if I can out offroad the jeep and yota boys.
They give you 6 inches of lift automatically and provide a track surface to ride on with built in suspension!
No added flex, but that's why I'm gonna be upgrading the suspension
somewhere along the way.
And as a word of advice, if you don't have to swap trannies on a lego, don't.
Unless you're really ambitious or desperate (like me), then just stick with
swapping the same tranny, don't convert it.

The BRAT is (hopefully) going to be getting mattracks, a custom
brushguard, a full rollbar, a 5sp d/r, MAJOR rust repair and body
filling and a repaint, a full engine rebuild with a custom
intake and twin turbos and maybe a lego mpfi injection and
ignition system
Yeah, I've got BIG plans for that bad boy.
Plus the lego in the back I just got back on the road and 2 new
fenders and a new bumper on it (smashed up the other ones :-\).
Replaced the 4EAT with a 5sp AWD tranny, will NEVER be
attempting that again...
So yeah, I've got big plans and just completed some big plans

Hey, well this new bumper I'm putting on will be the second one
for me, third one for the car.
Soooo, I figure if I replace it with something a bit, umm, beefier? I
won't be replacing a bumper every 6 months.
And don't be nagging on me to drive better.
I drive just fine, the car is just cursed. Lol.
Plus its gonna look SWEET with my design idea and (hopefully)
Bill's skillz...
Twitch
PS: If you have any design ideas, throw'em at me, I could use some
more.

Hey Bill, want to get a Bull bar/Brush guard on my 90 lego, but
have no spare metal nor a welder to play with. (Or any welding skill)
So, next time you're in the area, I'd like to see if you can help me
work out a bullbar that mounts up the the stock bolt holes.
I'd make it worth your while
I have a spare bumper to play with, right after I pull it and install
the non-bashed one.
So if you could help me out I'd meet you in spokidoki, or wherever
is mutually agreeable next time you're around.

Just being creepy.
And I have an idea on a bull bar for the lego.
I'm tired of replacing bumpers...
