  1. Status Update: EA81 Wagon/Sedan 7 Votes (22%) EA81 Coupe 3 Votes (9%) Hatchback 4 Votes (13%) BRAT 10 Votes (31%) EA82 Wagon/Sedan 4 Votes (13%) EA82 Coupe 1 Vote (3%) RX 1 Vote (3%) XT/XT-T 1 Vote (3%) XT6 1 Vote (3%) Well, at least the BRAT's haven't completely blown everything else out of the water... Twitch
  2. Actually, everything is run through the ign switch, even the lights. (As you knew I'm sure) But not everything is run through only the "on" position of the switch. I can run radio, wipers and... Hmmm, I think that's all that will run while the key is in the acc position. And those are all that run while the problem is occurring. Which brings me to believe that the problem is either the switch, or the wiring between the switch and the fuse box. Twitch
  3. And that's the other poll I created, its favorite generations, not favorite older generation model. The poll for favorite Older generation model is located in post #1. The very first sentence, in white. Twitch
  4. If you look at specs, the XT6 is a whole different animal. It has a specialized power steering package, its the only EA to have a 5 lug bolt pattern, the ER27 is subaru's first H6 engine, and I could go on, and on... Twitch
  5. I'm thinking that, but the problem is intermittent. It may be from the new ignition that was installed sometime in the past. It was dealer installed, or at least by someone who knew what they were doing, because everything looks stock. But do you know if anything else would be affected by the "On" circuit shorting out? Twitch
  6. Da Poll... All I ask is that you reply to let me know who, and how many people voted. Twitch PS: Although McBrat's BRAT is the pic I used, please don't be biased because of it, and there is a reason I didn't include an option for it. (I could only put 9 answers in! ) The picture used is property of McBrat and was used without his permission If you wish for me to remove it, I will, Mick
  7. I would be out there testing it and playing with it, but I had to take my bro in law to work. I know there is no spark, I have tested that using my radiator fan. Idk if it has fuel, I have yet to check that. I believe that it does have fuel, or it should, because the fuel pump is run directly off the alt (stock wiring pattern) It does turn over, so the wiring between the battery and the starter is still good. Twitch PS: I have yet to throw any parts at this thing, I like to diagnose before I spend any money
  8. Already done. And the continuity of the fusible links has been tested too. Any other ideas? Twitch
  9. x100 CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Get ready to make sacrifices... :-p Twitch
  10. Check, check and check :-\ I think just to appease the electrial gods, I'll be replacing all of my old ground wires and seeing if that does anything to the problem. I'm pretty sure that it is something between the engine power and the main fuse box, but where? If I start the car and let it warm up then pull the main fuse the car will continue to run. I believe this is normal because its a standard carb engine, correct? If not that may point to my problem. Another thing I'm looking at is the aluminum wiring in these things. That stuff is notorious for causing shorts because of the thermal expansion properties it has. Twitch
  11. Well, it failed about 2 weeks ago. SO now after buying the "nightwagon" (87 Gl carb w/5sp d/r) the BRAT sits. I took it for a quick jaunt (500ft or so) and promptly destroyed a CV boot. SO now its REALLY parked. I turned the key on, not the engine, and played with electricals. You know, lights, wipers, fan, turn signal, anything to rile the electrical problem. Well, one by one, nothing worked, until I kicked on my aftermarket fogs. Killed it quicker than a rattler on a mouse. Then it wouldn't start. So any other idears? Cuz I'm lost. I've checked all my fusible links, the plugs between the fusible links and the fuse block, nothing. And this whole time my accesories stay on. But no spark to the ignition coil, no headlights and no dash lights. Twitch
  12. Oooooo, pretty... Twitch And btw, in the window of the house, is that a rat or a dog? It looks kinda like a chihuahua, but I'm not sure...
  13. I'm looking for the same stupid things!!! I'm watching this to see if it gets anywhere... Twitch PS: I think you may want try automotive stores, I've seen lots of miscellaneous crap in my local Schucks/Oreilly's accessories section
  14. Wow. This board has officially hit the absolutely amazing zone. We're a subaru board, but yet were able to help figure out a saturn problem. WOW. I love this place, I wish I never had to leave... Twitch
  15. SOLD!!!! I would snap that up in an instant!!! Around here (PNW) those don't go any cheaper than $2k and that's the fixer uppers. I say buy it now, change the gear oil, look for glitter, and do a thorough scrubdown on that engine to see where the oil is coming from. Twitch
  16. But not quite as nice as some big, soft long travel springs and some aired down 33"s!!! Just like cruisin' in a caddy... Twitch PS: ThirdEyeHatch, I dig it if it works in your neck of the woods. It wouldn't work around here, too much snow and too many bumps, but hey, it looks reeeeeally cool!
  17. Well, enjoy!

    I'm off to bed

  18. Well at least you're able to keep the things on the road (and only one has tried to kill you so far ) One thing I would recommend on that BRAT is to check out the fuel pump connection. It seemed somewhat corroded when I installed the pump. So maybe if you clean up that connection your idling/accelerating off of idle problem may be fixed. Also, I would check your fuel filer again. That tank sat for a few years, never know what made its way into that thing. Twitch
  19. Have you been up working on that thing?

    Wow that's late for you.

  20. LMAO!!!!! Sorry, but I'm glad I let you play with that thing instead of me! Just as a warning, all of my cars seem to operate best at WOT. Not to mention they all have balls Gutless to the end, but if you gotta go, they will get you there. Enjoy! Twitch PS: I don't think it hates you, its just testing you to see if you're worthy of driving it. Nobody ever "owns" a BRAT.
  21. Can't sleep, eh?

  22. So how's that 4Runner treatin' ya? Hope you didn't DISOWN shelby for it... Twitch PS:JK dude, hope its ready to go soon
  23. Well I'll be calling you if I need'em! Thanks for the offer I need a total of 8, 4 front, 4 rear. Twitch
  24. Round two with the night wagon. I changed all my wheels and tires over to my new/used tires on chromies, and on the test drive my left front left. Quite literally. And this is after checking and seating all lugnuts and double torqueing with the lug wrench. All four lugs worked themselves off in the distance of 3/4 of a mile. I got the wheel back on, I had my lo pro floor jack with me this time, using lugnuts from other wheels I limped it home. Thankfully legos and EA82's have the same threading as first gen legos, I was able to steal some lugnuts off of my parts lego. So, after all that the nightwagon has a tweaked fender, a chewed up stud, and a slightly scarred rotor. Yeah, this car wants to kill me. Oh, does anybody know if studs from a 94 lego will fit in an EA82 hub? Twitch
