  1. You need to find some Puegeot wheels. They will allow you to use bigger tires. You could also do the 6 lug conversion. Is it a 5spd?
  2. It's here!! I will try to post pics tomorrow. It's supposed to be snowing really hard tomorrow so we will see, but as soon as I can I will!
  3. Yeah I checked all the rest and it's a known good battery(Optima) so it's got to be the alt
  4. Thank you, I will call my parts guy tomorrow and see if he knows anything.
  5. AFAIK they are not viciously coupled. It's all gears. I have never heard of one losing 4WD, I have heard of gears not working and I had one that reverse died, but never broken 4WD. Hmmmm, I dunno? Maybe the linkage broke and it looks like you're in 4WD? That's weird! Hopefully someone else chimes in! Good luck!
  6. Yeah I would be all for doing that but have never heard of anyplace like that around here
  7. It isn't a cracked head. And yes, if the headgaskets were not properly installed according to the above torque sequence than they can fail very quickly. If you have them redone, it would be a good idea to make sure the heads are nice and straight
  8. I found an almost used one for 65 bucks. I think that's a good deal. A friend of mine has it
  9. :lol:That's awesome! And I thought my dog made a mess of the interior!
  10. Oh cool, I just saw the pretty color and had to ask! Looks good man!!
  11. Well I know most people would say not to use anything like that in your motor, but hey, I understand the money situation and if you're gonna get your money back if it doesn't work, I say why not! Hopefully it works, but even if it does, I will warn you, it won't last for long. You will still have to do the HG's or get rid of the car, no matter what. Good luck!
  12. There might be some people on Mainelysubarus that would help you install them yourself. I know that a few people have done that on there. Worth a try
  13. yeah sounds like the Hg's to me:-\ Sorry! You can pick the parts up for under 300 bucks or so, and then you have to find someone who will do them for you. Or you could get rid of the car....all options require money......unfortunately
  14. Well if it's the head gasket than it would be burning the coolant, so that's where it would go. Why wouldn't it start??? And when it did, the top hose came off? Was the clamp loose?
  15. I would use fel pro. You can still get a head gasket kit from fel pro for pretty cheap
  16. I would say freeze plugs. There must be some internal ones. Most of the heads on these cars are cracked but really does nothing as far as problems. And I have seen many leaky head gaskets and none of them do what you're saying
  17. Considering that a wagon and a Brat have the same wheel base, I bet you just do some trimming on the wagon rockers and get them to fit great!
  18. I posted a link in the old gen section. They only list them for Loyales but that's what you see being installed on the pic above. I guess they are different the last couple inches on the end, but they do work. Here it is http://www.rustrepair.com/repair_pan...ru&p=sm-subaru
  19. My disty on my SPFI swapped Brat is maxed out all the way to the front. I actually reamed out the hole a little to get more out of it.
  20. Thanks Dave!!!! You da man!! Of course now that means I have to go buy an alternator!
  21. Awesome!! Glad you got it. Snowing in N. Carolina! Wow, it's snowing here too, we are supposed to get 12" tonight into tomorrow, can't wait for pics!!
