  1. So I can just use two separate pieces of steel on each side? I just thought that wouldn't be enough.
  2. Oh I know all about rust!! Unfortunately! Just try to get as much rust off before laying any filler down. It will just keep eating away under the filler:-\ But good luck with it, I have done lots of these jobs and really hate it! If possible, any real holes, definitely weld patches in, they will last much longer!!
  3. Good luck!!! Are there any actual holes?
  4. I was going off of what he sjr has on his web site. He has one plate per side, and it's bent to fit. Here's a pic
  5. bad reception? That would be my guess. If the FM works, I don;t think it's anything to do with the stereo, so I would guess you just aren't getting signal
  6. yeah that's what I plan on doing. Thanks again! I also need to know the distance between the two mount bolts on the top, the 17mm ones. Thanks
  7. no kidding! So the rubber plug that goes into the tranny doesn't have a hole in it? That's weird! Is this your car or one you're working on? Maybe take the dash out a little to see if the speedo cable is floating around behind the dash?:confused:I dunno
  8. I was wondering if someone knew, or could find out, how far apart the mounting bolts are on the top mounts of the rear struts. Thanks!!
  9. yes there should be a cable. Is it maybe flopping around in there?
  10. alright, I just looked and he does have the 4" lift plates. So I get the 15* part, but how far out is that offset? Is there a chance you could measure it for me? Thanks again
  11. okay, do you by chance have a pic of this plate? I don't think he has them on his sight anymore. I'll take a look again. Thanks!
  12. This is the pic I'm talking about, it looks like you have to remove the plate off the top of the strut add in the block and then reattach the mounting plate. I thought of you took the mounting plate off the top of the strut, that would allow the spring to release. Is this not the case? Thanks for the help!!
  13. Looks great!! I like the bumper, it looks a little like mine:grin: Great job with it, that thing is gonna be mean!!! Quite the approach angle as well:banana:
  14. Back to the top! I was thinking about doing this type of lift on my new car, I was just wondering about the rear. You really don't need a spring compressor? I just thought if you remove the nut on top of the rear strut that the spring will push the mount right off. It looks so easy, I think I will go this route!!
  15. Very nice looking Brat!! Looks real clean, nice job taking care of it!!
  16. My 97 Impreza did that. I double and triple checked and it had no leaks, it just always did it. I even had a subaru tech take a look, and he couldn't find anything either
  17. Yup make sure you get to it before it get's bad!! Rust never sleeps!!! I have to do a thorough cleaning as well, I don't think it's been washed this winter at all
  18. Is your pass side cv boot broken? That would spray grease on the cat and make it smoke
  19. yeah I think it should bolt up, but I'm sure as you know, they are different
  20. You mean Gen 3, but yes they are tough!!! But the motors in the Gen 2's like my Brat, are even better! No timing belts to break!
  21. Good lookin out!! I'd love to come get one, but it's a long drive! You definitely got lucky!! Take care of them and they will do the same! I'm getting mine delivered on Saturday, I can't wait!! I posted a link about getting it in the old gen section. I'm gonna post pics when I get it!!
