This is mine, it has the rear quarters cut on it but does it help?

Nice!! I'm jealous! I want one of your rust free cars!!!, we don't really have those up here in Maine! Can't wait to see pics!! Interior and under hood shots as well!! Also make sure to check the coolant on the turbo car, they have a tendency to eat head gaskets! They aren't as long lasting and reliable as the N/A motors like the one in your 89
-
Well that car has a turbo motor and different gearing. the turbos have 3.7 gearing. But if it's a 4WD it should still be a 5 spd dual range. Post pics of that one too!!
-
4.11's in an EA82T? I'm pretty sure they all had 3.70 gearing
-
Well if you can learn how to drive a stick, that thing would be sweet with a 5spd dual range tranny!!! You drive your car to me and I'll swap it out for ya!! Yeah too far I know, but very nice ride!
-
Wow, that's a steal!! Looks real solid. And as long as it runs good, who cares about the mileage! Is it 5 spd, or auto?
-
Welcome! Nice car! and very impressive miles!! I just picked up a similar car, with much less miles. You'll love it here!!
-
yeah, It's really pretty solid. And Since it's not that bad, I will take very chance to oil it thoroughly and fix any spots it does have to make it last!! I looked it over good, and the only spots I found were right behind the rear wheels, but they are quite small and easily fixable!! Hopefully yours doesn't get that bad!!
-
Probably get all the small stuff worked out and the drive it as is for a little while. But, I've always wanted a lifted sedan, so I'll probably lift it a couple inches!! And definitely fix the small rust spots before they have a chance to get worse!
-
So I don't have pics yet but I just picked up an 89 GL sedan with 4x4 dual range!!! It started life as a 2wd auto but a friend of mine converted it a few months back!! It needs a good cleaning and a few odds and ends but it's in very good shape. It has small rust holes behind each rear wheel, but they are very small and I will cut them out and weld in patches this spring(or sooner) I will post some pics when I get the car on Saturday!

Advice on Installing EA82 control arms -> EA81
bratman18 replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
jbbvw did this on his EA81 and did not have to move the control arm mounts. I would ask him. He explained a lot of it to me. -

Do you want to contact the previous owner? I mean the one that had it before the guy that you got it from. He is on a Maine subaru site that I am part of. PM me your email and I will give it to him and he can maybe help you out. -

We don't need a title for a vehicle over 15 years old in Maine, that's why he never got a title for it in Maine. All we need is a bill of sale. It's not a lost cause! Take the time and get the paper work that you need, you will just have to wait a little longer, that's all -

I'm still planning on it but I have not registered yet either, just want to make sure I can make it before I absolutely commit. -
Well he did call it a pickup, so the confusion is understandable:grin:
