  1. Chrome rings? And what ground to what location. Sorry....:-\
  2. ok I will have to get a test light....I know I know I should really have one anyways. But I guess I will try this. I didn't think I would have to do anything like this because I thought that one light was used for only high beams and the other is used for High and Low. So I thought if I plugged in the one used for high and low then I wouldn't have to do anything. I also asked Brian (monstaru) and he said that when he did the conversion he didn't remember having to rewire anything. So I guess I will try this and if there are anymore ideas bring 'em on!!Thanks for the suggestions and also thanks for the compliments!!
  3. My plugs actually line up perfectly with the prongs on the bulbs
  4. Yes the axle on an EA82 is longer but he may be referring to the 86 wagon and meaning that it is an EA81 so he needs to clarify the body style
  5. So as you all know I just completed this swap, well now I only have low beams. When i put my high beams on the lights go dim. Also the light on the dash says that my high beams are on all the time. I have tried using the other plugs that were left over and then the lights only work on high beams. So I plugged the three pole plugs back on and have the same problem. So any ideas? Thanks!
  6. I say just put the stock motor behind the "cab" and the run a 2WD tranny and use the cv axles to power the rear wheels, I'm sure someone already had that idea though.... but it would be pretty cool!
  7. +1 I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to get her out working on subarus!!!
  8. I just hope he was able to get it running!!! Maybe it was more than the disty? Hopefully he gets back soon and lets us all know!!!
  9. The axle will only fit if it's the same body style car...which is EA81. If it has the same front end as your car then it will fit, if it looks like a Loyale then it won't. To get the new axle in make sure you take some sandpaper and take of any corrosion on the end of the axle where it slides through the hub. Then what I do is use a home made slide hammer, But I think if you prep it good enough it will slide in. then once you can get the hub back on you can use the axle nut to tighten it into place. Good luck!
  10. Ok as far as I know it has a switch over the steering column, mine did. And I bet it's a bad rear wheel bearing and not the rear diff.
  11. Yeah but at least you know some of the problem now and with a new temp gauge and now that you know the fan will work, you shouldn't have to worry about any more hang ups!! So at least you're making progress!
  12. Yeah I'm honestly not sure if he will pay much for anything for it! He sounded like he just wanted to make sure it got saved! I wish that he had been heading to Maine so that I could have gotten it!!!! But yeah it does look nice I know it will at least be worth the parts!!! He got lucky for sure and the PO was unlucky!:-\
  13. sounds about right! Now I really wish I'd thought of it when I did mine:-\
  14. Yeah the parts are hard to find. I have only seen one other in Maine with this style. When I saw Monstaru post these for sale when the playground was up, I jumped on it! I've always wanted the single headlight setup. I probably would have taken the single square as well but I do like the round! It's like a lot of the late 70's vehicles.
  15. Yeah mines covered in dirt and salt right now I hate it!! I wish I didn't have to drive it in the winter!! I also wish I could get my HG's changed!:-\ Oh yeah and welcome to the site and nice car, what have you done to it?
  16. right! These lights were included with the stuff I bought off Monstaru! Right now I only have low beams(Haven't figured it out yet) but they are much brighter than my stock ones were!
  17. This might be, but I'm sorry Ford made some really good tractors, my uncle has a large farm and had a john deer and a ford(don't ask me what year or size) and they were both excellent tractors, the ford looked like a pile of rust and never stopped working, my cousin worked in the woods and bought a late 80's Ford and never had an issue with it and my dad bought a New Holland and has never had an issue with it, now with that said I'm not a fan of ford but you can't argue with the many years they produced a long lasting very capable work machine and the many years that they lasted. I personally would buy a Kubota, but obviously they haven't been around for ever!:-\
  18. Yeah the motor I have in it now is an EA81 out of an 83 or 84 hatch and the spare that I have is out of an 86 Brat so I guess by what your saying I probably have the bigger valves already. I also have SPFI so I can't really do any upgrades to that:-\ Phizinza, what do you mean wagon setting vs sedan setting? I have Loyale strut tops in my Brat so I used the existing hole in the front and then drilled to in the rear
  19. Nice lookin hatch, gonna have to get some pics when it isn't completely overtaken by snow:grin: Yeah you should do a 5 spd swap, you'd love it! And then maybe a little lift and a little bigger tires! As long as you don't go too big you'll be fine.
