Ellevehc's gl build thread

How'd it catch on fire? -
Rear won't work. It's a completely different rear suspension design.

Hello from Atlantic Canada!

Beautiful area. I recently worked up there helping to restore power for a few weeks. -
All EA82 heads crack that way. Not just the turbo ones. It's most likely the head gaskets. The EA82 turbos were known for overheating issues.

Hello from New Brunswick, Canada

What part of New Brunswick? I was recently up there for a few weeks helping restore power after the hurricane. -
Highguyslifts.com or Gloyale on here does harness jobs for less than that. I think it's around $180

Fronts are easier than rears! No press needed. Just a brass punch and a hammer and some patience!

But much more reliable. Doesn't have the same head gasket issues, and as a rule, holds up to anything you throw at it, much better than the ej25.

I really hope that's all it was. We did try another maf with the same results, but I suppose if the connector had a bad spot, that'd be why that didn't work either. Can't wait to get this done! Whenever I finally get home from working in Canada anyway.

bratman18 replied to ARJ's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Turbo is 3.7 it should be labeled on the rear diff. -
If you haven't seen anything about sjr lifts being bent or twisted, search more.

That was actually already done. At this point the harness is pulled out.

HighGuysLifts.com---Lifts for all models of Subaru!
bratman18 replied to Gloyale's topic in Products for your Subaru
Yes he still makes them. Highguyslifts.com Great to deal with too. -
I ran tires that were just under 27" on my brat that was lifted 2". It worked well. Still had a decent amount of power. I recommend Highguyslifts.com for a lift. They are built stronger, and he is great to deal with.

I'd do it on the car for sure. But if you don't use sand, it might not bend as smooth and might buckle the snorkel. So you'd have to take it off to add and remove the sand.
-
Will you be removing it to fill/empty it with sand? If so you should totally make me a template to line it up in the right spot on the fender!

Actually there's 2 wires that come from the ecu that send the signal for the fans to turn on. You then use one of those wires to hook up your own relay to turn on the fan(s) when the ecu senses the right temp. And yes, both come on at the same time. Mine was running, just couldn't get it to rev past 4k. We tried everything. We are swapping out the harness and ecu to an obd1 setup thanks to Gloyale.

It's red easy to wire it up to be ecu controlled. That's how mine are. I have 2 12" fans. They look like the same brand as you have.
