  1. 93-96 are the same. 97-01 has a slightly different shape and because of this uses different headlights and grille. The bumper is also different for these years. They all interchange though.
  2. They newer ones (06+ I believe) are made from some sort of plastic because of the issue with them rusting. I replaced the rusted metal one on my 04 Forester XT with a plastic one and it worked great. And it is for coolant. It's called the coolant expansion tank.
  3. They don't say to use any sealant on the head gaskets. Hopefully that doesn't cause you any issues.

    Nice, I like that idea^
  5. On a Toyota, you can change the gearing. Makes a world of difference.
  6. I put loyale struts in my brat. I actually drilled new holes and used the entire assembly, top hat and all.
  7. Another reason for the inner 2 rails is to stiffen the roof up. Otherwise, when you hit certain bumps, the roof can actually buckle slightly and make a noise. With those rails, it won't.
  8. Yeah used is the way to go. I don't necessarily agree with them MUST having synthetic, but oil debates are usually a waste of time lol. I have several friends, and guys I know with shops that stopped using synthetic in Subaru turbos. They consumed synthetic way too quick. The only synthetic that works is the Subaru synthetic. Definitely find a used motor. Any EJ 2.5 Subaru turbo motor will work. But it's best for you to use all your accessories and intake manifold etc. But you can use the block and heads from any EJ25 turbo. EJ255 came in the FXT, 06+WRX, and 05+LGT. The EJ257 came in the 04+ STi. But either will work.
  9. Turbone posted that link directly above your post.
  10. Yes, the side skirts from a 95-99 legacy gt will fit any other 95-99 legacy. I actually have a set of them, along with a rear lip.
  11. A factory RX front air dam.
  12. Not sure about that. Even in the stock application on an ea82 it'll turn 7400 which is valve float. No clue though, it just did. My friend who did the swap was a subaru mechanic and we always got a kick out of it. No power at that level but it took it!
  13. My spfi swapped ea81 that I had in my brat would turn 8k, but man it sounded like things were going to start going everywhere lol. But it never did.

  15. Yeah it did all work out in the end, and I did get a refund, but there's no excuse for waiting 8 months for a car that I was told I'd have in 3 weeks. Sorry but it's a fact. I was trailed along for 7 out of 8 of those months with promises of pictures, and deadlines. And then to hear of other members with similar experiences. Only difference was I'm not local, so I wasn't in his face asking why my car wasn't done. I fully understand all the aspects of the situation, and was very patient. And I accept your apology, even though it really wasn't your fault. Luckily Rick did stick to his words when it came to getting a refund, but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.
  16. I'll definitely give you a good deal on either one you want when the time comes. I'll actually have 3 before too long after my ej swap is done. Can't wait for that!
  17. Yeah as I stated before, the SOHC is a better engine, but they all still have the head gasket issue. I have a friend with a shop and he does at least 4 head gasket jobs a week. Years ranging from 99 to 09.
  18. I have 2 Loyale y pipes, which is what is on your GL. I have nothing to use them on so let me know if you are interested in one.
  19. Yeah just be prepared to wait forever if you have GD do it. You guys are just getting to Mike Appels old car? Wasn't there a thread on here a couple months ago where that guy was waiting for It to be started?
  20. The transmission in your car is really no weaker than any 02-03 WRX transmission. They supposedly got a little stronger after that though. But there are plenty of people running regular Impreza transmissions in their turbo swapped cars. But if you plan on building it to have more power, then think about upgrading the trans as well. You need the motor, and everything associated, as well as the wiring harness at the least. You need to have the harness merged with yours. Upgrading the brakes would be a good idea with upping the power level!
