  1. 93-01 impreza, 02-07 impreza. Forester has a different center bearing so the drives shift will be at a different angle if you use one of those. You can usually get a decent low mileage one off ebay for 100 or less shipped.
  2. The factory tow hooks work great but......don't use chain. On a vehicle with a full frame it's usually fine, but with a unibody, you're asking for damage. Use a rope, and if not, use a strap. You want that stretch effect so you use the built up energy to get the car Un stuck.
  3. Definitely be weary of that car with the fact that someone with little knowledge owned it, and even more so being a young kid. The fenders and front bumper are not aftermarket though.

  5. You can't just swap in all the wiring and everything. We're talking 2 different platforms completely. The body style changed in 08, so things won't just swap in. And yes A LOT of people have done swaps, but most of them have professionals do it because it's not easy to do, and not just a matter of getting your hands dirty. Your turbo experience doesn't mean a whole lot honestly. These are Subarus, and while some things do cross over from one brand to another, there is A LOT that does not.
  6. An 05 WRX did not come with an EJ257. And it will be a lot of work, and a lot of money to do the swap regardless. Everything will bolt in for the most part, but it's not that straight forward, regardless of what he ^ assumes. It's been done A LOT, and you can find lots of info on a site like NASIOC, but don't expect people to be nice and answer many questions on there, but the answers are all there if you search.
  7. But he said nothing moved when he shook the wheel.
  8. My 27" Grabbers have almost identical tread void as the 265 75 16 grabbers on my dads truck.
  9. The title says, and has said 1000 all along, pretty sure that was just a typo.
  10. Those are not EA81 wagon wheels. They are EA82. They have a different curve to them. And the EA81 wheels fo fit on EA82 cars, but only if the front pads are worn a bit. If the pads are new, they will hit on the calipers.
  11. This was the thread to the craigslist link http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/139504-legitimate-kaminari-xt-molds-on-ebay/
  12. Damn that's pricey insurance! how old are you? When I was 18 that's about what mine was. It was less than 100 a month for full coverage on my forester xt. Little did they know it had 300whp. Lol
  13. Yeah I'd say that the location makes a huge difference, as well as how common they are. Those cars are still all over the place around here.
  14. Yours does have relatively low miles for the year. Hopefully it really has been taken care of and the motor holds up well.
  15. My XT had 115k on it. And his wrx had 112k. Think what you want, just pointing out facts of what is seen all over the interest lol. And all the cars I see for myself. I'm far from new to subarus.
  16. Hell I sold my 04 Forester XT, with a full STi 6 speed swap, and STi everything, with no rust for 12k.
  17. I was talking about rust free ones. And the ones with a little rust, go for even less, as I said. Even my buddy's 04 wagon with sway bars, STi TMIC, BOV, turbo back exhaust, intake, brand new tires, and only the slightest spot of surface rust sold for 6k. It was a nice car.
  18. Yeah you're right. But if you just use the EJ251 block, and get yourself a set of good EJ25D DOHC heads, then you can use the intake that came in the car and it'll all bolt right up.
  19. Find another head. They are pretty plentiful and not even that expensive. There have been a few sets for sale on here even.
  20. Honestly sounds like a bit much to me. Bugeye WRX's go for 5k here, and that's for a decent one. Maybe 6 for a really nice one, and less for one that needs attention. But as long as it's super clean, and lasts, then it's worth it in the end.
