  1. Looks nice. Where'd you get the front bumper?
  2. Ahh good deal then. I'm sure the old Forester struts were not happy running Impreza springs! Looks great now. I love how mine rides with them.
  3. Correct, the engine is very different and very little will cross over.
  4. Looks good!! I see you swapped top hats, was there a reason for this? Forester struts will bolt right into 02-07 Imprezas.
  5. It's closer to 2-2.5" of lift with the Outback struts on a Legacy. And the tires are also about a 2" difference. And you would use the trailing arm bracket, but it's not absolutely necessary.
  6. Yeah that's right, theirs are 93 and 94. But the front bumpers don't appear to be much different.
  7. Definitely front mount. And I know a guy you could ask about the what fits best too if you wanted, as he has done a few already. Can't wait to see it progress!
  8. None of them had an IC here. But it's a very popular and worth while upgrade and I'm sure this one will be seeing one on the future!
  9. Yes, they can fail faster. But adding Outback struts is generally within the safe range.
  10. This isn't true. Many people including myself have outback or forester struts in out regular legacy or impreza and you don't need the body spacers. It is a bit more challenging to get the bolts in, but it can be done. Just need a pry bar.
  11. No, the OBS has the no factory lift, so it has the same tranny crossmember as an Impreza. Gloyale has a good suggestion too. Simple and easy way to check.
  12. Yes. You need to use the rotors and caliper bracket too. And then make sure your wheels will clear the larger brakes as well. But everything will bolt right on.
  13. Actually.........The mount doesn't have to be the same, for it to bolt up. I was speaking from experience in this situation. The Forester has a built in lift block in the transmission crossmember, that the Impreza doesn't have. If the JDM tranny came from a Forester, than it will still bolt up, and look fine, but in fact will not allow the transmission to sit at the correct height, and in turn, put a different angle on the driveshaft. I dealt with this for a while before I figured out what it was.
  14. Don't get rid of the stock BRAT gas door. They are getting harder to come by! Looks like a sweet project!
  15. Did you use the original tranny mount and driveshaft? The one on the tranny possibly could have come from a different vehicle, like a Forester, and the angle of things could be off if that's the case.
  16. I've always removed them in my lifted rigs.
  17. Nice! Looks good. I want to find a wrx hood for mine too. The stock one is so damn heavy!
  18. Cool. I haven't heard from him for a bit, so I'm eager to hear of the progress.
  19. I do have one, but I'm really hesitant to get rid of it!
