  1. I know this, I just said the axle in general, and then specified the inner. I agree if it's the original axle, it's probably the cause. They can look just fine, and "feel" just fine when you grab and try to move it by hand, but can cause vibration when driving. Just because it looks ok, doesn't mean it is.
  2. Not that it's any help, but I have had at least 3 of my older 5 spd dual ranges do that. Like you said, it wasn't big deal, so I just never worried about it. But it would be good to know the definite cause of it.
  3. Installed the huge Mishimoto radiator and newer coolant overflow yesterday. New intake manifold coming soon. Pic.....
  4. It was just a few years ago that I was still pulling parts off EA81's in the junkyards, but now there is nothing!
  5. The one I have has the mounts on it and it's already white..... Lol
  6. Wow! They still had a new one?!
  7. I have over 200k on my 98 now and have no worries, but it's the fact that so many people redo the head gaskets with non Subaru gaskets, or don't follow the correct torque sequence, or the fact that they overheated it to the point that it cooked the bearings, or warped the heads that is the biggest issue, if any of that was done, then they will be an issue again! The EJ22's are in the junkyard because the tranny is toast or the body is jacked up, not usually because of the motor!
  8. Those bushings are what I have in my Forester XT, the Torque Solutions ones. But they won't go into the older style driveshafts without modification, I know this from experience. Unless they have different ones for differetn years, but they only had one when I bought mine and they fit the newer style, like 02+ or something. So I wold really just use a couple big washers behind, and one washer on top and bolt 'er down!
  9. Thank you. This is what I was saying.
  10. An MV is a BRAT, they just call it an MV in the UK. And damn that thing is clean!!
  11. If you're just talking about the 2 bolts that hold the center bearing of the driveshaft to the car, you can replace those bushings. They just pop, or slide out of there spots. They can even be solid mounted there because the center bearing mount has a rubber mount as well. So you could sandwich a few washers in there or something and bolt it up.
  12. All the 2.5 N/A's have head gasket issues, they just vary in the way they leak from phase 1 and phase 2.
  13. You're flocking right he did!
  14. ^89 EA82 had the dual range as well, but that only came in the 5spd.
  15. Yeah my scoop is a bit big! But it works with my aftermarket intercooler splitter, and get's a lot of air to the JDM STi intercooler! And yeah, I just realized I never replied about the brakes!!! My bad!! Sorry about that!
  16. It's back at the body shop getting the fox damage fixed. I will have it back by Saturday morning. I did a deal with a local forum member and got this Forester XT specific Mishimoto radiator Here is a pic for Durania
  17. So last night I went and a friend and I installed the new oil pan, that despite what I found online, was different than my stock one, but still fit and the pickup sat in the same spot, so that was all good. Also installed the group N motor and tranny mounts, and did the spark plugs too. Everything went pretty good. Had an issue with a corroded wire on one of the coils, but that's all good now too. So there I was all happy that my car was finally getting some stuff done, and parts installed that I have had sitting around forever, I was about a mile from my house and bam, I hot something. I did't see anything so I had no clue what it was. I turned around and went back and found that a fox had run out in front of me, my first thought was the new body work. So I pulled under a street light and sure enough the paint is cracked in a couple spots, and where the lip was molded into the bumper in one spot pulled away. Damn fox. It sucks I hit him, but it really sucks that I have to go back to the body shop after only a week! But he said he can fix it no problem, so that's next on the list.
  18. If you can't, let me know. I have one.
  19. Pretty sure it's factory, but good luck getting a new one! It should fit your car, the lower valance should be the same and it attaches right to that.
  20. Rob, what are the details on that Focus? Is that a swap, or something that came with that? I never heard of any Fords getting Cosworth anything in the states.
  21. I can't remember the size right now, BUT, check the glovebox of the car, they often came with the right sized driver and were kept in the glovebox.
