I did look at those as well, would they be visibly blown? They didn't look like it. But I'll check.

The other day my ignition got stuck on my 89 EA82 GL, so I pulled the back side off and started it, that issue is all solved(broken off key stuck inside) When I was doing that, I slipped and touched the screw driver to the solder points on the backside of the ignition, now I have no power to the cigarette lighter, the radio (lights are on but won't play) and no windshield wipers, what could this be? I check all the fuses and none are blown. Thanks

Yeah I remember when I added it to my Brat! What a difference, especially for off road in my case. Looks like a great car!!! Don't crash it!!!

Questions about my '83 Brat
bratman18 replied to misledxcracker's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Usually the thermostat gasket comes in the box with the thermostat. Good to hear you got a radiator. Mine had the fittings, but I was having a hard time getting it boxed up. Good luck man!! -
Nice!!

Same here, if I have any odds and ends lying around that you need, I'll donate them if you need them. Good luck!! -

I say do what you can to fix this one up, AND get the coupe. If you can get a solid coupe for cheap, jump on it!!! But if you can save the one you have for the price of your time, do that too!! -
I honestly don't know. I just know that this is EXACTLY what mine was doing, and it was the HG's:-\. These won't mix with the oil, because the phase 2 2'5's have external leaks. You may not be seeing any leaks yet, but I bet there is some sort of leak there, it just isn't really showing yet. Just make sure that you let it cool down and top the radiator AND the overflow back off, so it never gets hot. My old RS is still thriving with it's new owner. He replaced the HG's and it's going strong!!

Swap 2.5 turbo for H6 in 2005 Outback
bratman18 replied to guy.harmer's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
I think the STi motor swap would be real doable. They are very close. But to go with an H6, it would be quite a bit of work with wiring -
I was dreading you posting about this eventually. It may be the radiator cap, but my guess is the HG. That's what mine did pretty much the whole time I had it. Spewed coolant outta the overflow. And as long as I replenished it when it cooled down, it would never get hot, but it was the head gaskets. Good luck man!!
