How deep do I set brake pistons?
bratman18 replied to '84 Flat-Four's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
As long as you can get the pads on that's far enough. But make sure that the piston is turned the right way. They should be horizontal. -
They are actually used for moving the tops to the inside. This is to take care of the camber issue that you would get if you just dropped the strut straight down

Got mine today!! Thanks!! It looks great!!!

When I did my rockers, I bent up sheet metal. I used metal cut out from the roof of another Subaru. Just take lots of measurements and bend away! It does help to use a sheet metal break though -
newest addition, ie: another hatch

In Maine, we don't need the title if it's over 15 years old. Just a bill of sale! -

:lol:I love it, you gotta rub it in!! Send the rust free hatch body to the crusher. what a guy. It's good to hear you were able to keep your silver one though. It turned out real nice. -

Well I believe that's a slant radio console. But the rocker, you just cut them open and weld new stuff in. Make sure it's jacked up evenly so the body won't be tweaked at all. But you don't have to drill any spot welds, just cut out and weld new in. I did both mine on my Brat -
The nuts are 14mm head

Ahhh, so it's a Legacy, that's why 14's fit

With narrow rims and wider tires you have less of a chance of pinching the tire on the rim and blowing out your sidewall. As long as you use a decent tire, it shouldn't be a problem

Man that sucks!! So is the right stuff available? Where can you find it? -
Except on something like my RS. It comes with 16's but has the same brakes as an outback so 15's clear just fine.
-
You will need 15's. The 14" wheels won't clear the brakes on the outback. Also are you talking about an Outback with a lift? Or a Legacy with Outback struts?

So I got my alternator rebuilt and he tested it, and I installed it on my car and it's good. But, my battery light and my e-brake light stay on all the time. I have let it run for a long time, turned everything on, and it works great, so I am just wondering why these two lights are staying on. Any ideas?

They should be the same.
