When going to the wcss-11, i lost a heater line and dumped all the coolant, its never been the same. Ive replaced both head gaskets, thermostat,{ which was not present before} and put a newer macs radiator out of my gals hatch, which never gets above a 1/4 on a hot day. put rad. in today, thinking it was old and clogged. still just as bad , if not worse. i looked the heads over well and did not find any cracks. maybe warped? need a ea81 in portland. pay cash, ken @503.735.1583 thanks in advance

floortom replied to floortom's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
at a quick glance i seen mpfi 2.2 full time awd, all ajustments are computer controled. i worked at six states drine train in the driveline dept., so spliceing slip/spline/yoke issues i think i can get i grip on. as for matching two cv joints...mabey. the nuts and bolts of motor mounts and cross members would be a great help from anyone that has done this with sucsess. all advice is welcome......thanks, ken -

hatch clutch size and other dissmal failures help!
floortom replied to floortom's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I 'm screwed...girl frd unit is pissed. so am i ... .cant find the kit, wrong parts evry time...why is the hatch so hard to buy for? Differnt stuff, brakes i can understand ...spline size? -
Hi Ken from Portland here. I'm having problems locating a clutch for an 86 Subie Hatch. I've been sold the wrong one twice due to differences. Clutch disk is 8 7/8" Small spline Old sytle throwout bearing The first one they sold me was the right size clutch disk but I could tell the throwout bearing was for a different model and the spline size was too big. It measured 1". The second one they sold me the clutch disk was an 1" too small and it had the replaceable throwout bearing but it was too small. I called the Napa warehouse and other various places in Portland and the closest one I could find was 5 days away in New Mexico. I rented a trannty jack this weekend, and it sits there mocking me... Can somebody like Ritchie Rich or someone like him in the Portland area locate one for me - they have to be here. Failure 2 Pilot bearing is stuck. I bought a $44 remover but the jaws were just a shade too large so I filed it down so it would fit in the hole. Yet it didn't have enough to pull the bearing - it pops out. Tried the grease trick with no success. Is there a better puller or method I don't know about? Failure 3 Exhaust studs for the catalytic converter - one on each side broke off. After much babying and preperation they still broke off. What is the best method to remove them? Still about 3/4" of an inch stick out from the head. Thanks for any help in advance! Ken from Portland
