  1. Not sure I follow what you're saying, avk. I have a '95 Legacy L Wagon, manual trranny, and it's OBD2.
  2. Just to clarify--where did your "EJ22 block and heads being run by a '95 OBD1" come from? '95 EJ22s were OBD2 (in Legacys at least.)
  3. Johnc--I think you meant to say: "the easy cheap solution is to buy a 95 ej22 w/ egr and swap it in."
  4. Welcome aboard, jelliff. You found a great place here for exactly what you want.
  5. Hi Erik--welcome to USMB. Frankly I think most of us would disagree with replacing "the whole Cat system!" But suggest you re-post your questions in the Newer Generation forum--you'll get more exposure and a better chance of helpful responses there.
  6. Welcome to the USMB, oldiron. You should post your question in the "Older Generations" forum.
  7. Hi Ronnie! Welcome to the USMB--you'll get tons of help here. But would you do us a favor? Please post your questions in the Newer Generation forum--they'll get a lot more exposure and more responses there. Thanks!
  8. Welcome aboard, gator1. You've found a great place here to learn about your Subie. So pester away--we love to talk about them and share information. Oddly enough I was born in Canada--but left as a kid. And I'm a Gator--graduated from University of Florida (a long, long time ago!)
  9. Welcome to the USMB, Wyn. You've found a great resource here. But you posted in the wrong place! Go back to the main page and post your questions in the "New Generation Forum." Good luck.
  10. Welcome aboard, Hopper. Sounds like torque bind for sure. You might try a search here on USMB--it's a big topic and there's a lot written about it. Good luck.
  11. Hi Laurie--welcome to the USMB. I think you're very wise--I would never buy a turbo model because of the potential for catastrophic ( = $$$) failure. Wish I could recommend a Subaru model for you, but my growth stopped in '96 when they ended production of the uber-reliable "bullet-proof" EJ22. Hopefully others will chime in here. Good luck.
  12. Welcome to USMB, Srubendall. You'll get more help in the Old Gen Forum (the Loyale is considered "Old Gen" because of its engine.) Good luck.
  13. Welcome aboard! Can you describe what you mean by a "sudden surge?"
  14. I believe a '96 Legacy would still be a non-interference 2.2!
  15. Sorry 'bout that, brus bro. Guess I should disclaim my comments--"not applicable after 1999. (If ever!)"
  16. Sorry gang, but I just have to ask--why is everyone so anxious to shell out $70 or $80 or $100 to replace the quality OEM starter that's already in your Subaru? It takes the same amount of work to R & R a starter whether it's the one you have or a replacement. But it only takes minutes to open up the solenoid housing and replace the copper contacts. A few phone calls to auto-electric shops or a search online should find you a set for about 15 bucks. Then, if you still want to get rid of your money, send it to me. I'll be glad to help make it disappear!
  17. Welcome to the USMB, Buddy17. Post your questions in the New Gen forum and you'll have a better chance at getting some helpful answers.
  18. Just make sure you use a Subaru OEM thermostat or a Stant "Exacstat" along with an OEM quality gasket. If you try to cheap-out you'll be sorry later. Good luck!
  19. Could it be a problem with the geometry of that wheel? Has it ever been banged into a curb or something?
  20. Welcome to the USMB, nitpicker. If you post your questions on the New Gen forum you'll have a better chance of getting helpful responses.
  21. Hi, welcome to USMB. And I know you found the correct forum 'cuz I already responded to your question!!!
  22. IIRC, the starter on a '95 2.2 is attached with one bolt and one nut on a stud. And I believe the 2.2 has just 4 bolts to attach to the tranny--folks seem to feel that's okay, they don't worry about the missing 4!
