  1. What was the source for your EJ22? Don't they require a MAF sensor rather than a MAP sensor?
  2. Probably the copper contacts in the solenoid housing. About $10 - $15 at a parts store or auto-electric shop. Easy fix. Good luck.
  3. Just do it with words. Say, "Here is a posting about cocktails from an outfit called Andrewtech:" That way we'd know it's not you making the statements/claims--that's what confused me! Thanks for responding.
  4. Lucky, would you mind going back to this post (#7) and introducing this as a quoted posting? I was totally confused as to who "We" was--who was making the claims--until I got to the end and saw the "Andrewtech" signature. Might clarify things for other readers. Thanks.
  5. And welcome to you too nick. Got any pics of your wagon? We love pics!
  6. Sorry 'bout that! But you will learn to love this place. Welcome aboard jack!
  7. Congrats! I'd say you got yourself a pretty nice vehicle there--at a great price. Good luck, enjoy the fix-up.
  8. Welcome aboard Andrew. You've obviously made some very wise choices--both in wife and car! Seriously, you're going to love this place.
  9. Thanks Rene, I really enjoyed the ride!
  10. It may be that the backing plate screws on your oil pump have loosened. Unfortunately to get to them you have to go into the front end like a full-on timing belt change. Would also be wise to replace the crank & cam seals while you're in there. Good luck.
  11. What is the car--year, model, tranny, mileage? Maybe someone on USMB might want to make you an offer!
  12. Congrats tehP! Hope it all comes together for you tomorrow. Fixing the sloppy shifter can be a bit of a PITA, but it's worth the effort. there are many threads on the topic--go to "advanced search" and enter "shifter bushings" then select "New Gen Forum." Here's one from back when I did mine. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68989&highlight=shifter+bushings Good luck.
  13. Does your state have an Office of Consumer Protection or some kind of Ombudsman to act on your behalf? I would think they'd like to hear about those guys.
  14. Hi spike--welcome to USMB. You'll get a lot more helpful response, like the one above, if you post your question in the "Old Gen Forum." Also, where is Jupiter? Please add a state to your location ID. Thanks.
  15. If you're that far into the engine it's a good idea to replace those o-rings. They get mashed into a flat sided triangular shape and lose their sealing ability. One is on the passengr side back (firewall) end of the head--there's a cap with wings that you unbolt. The other one is on the front of the driver's side head, behind the cam sprocket and the inner plastic timing belt cover. Here's an excellent writeup by a member (search is my friend): http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=61591&highlight=o-ring Good luck.
  16. I bought OEM crank & cam seals from Subaru when I replaced mine a few years ago. They were black. IIRC the "old" brown seals were supplanted by the "new improved" black ones. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. Another good possibility is MWE axles in Denver, CO. Rebuilt Subaru OEM axles but at a much better price than dealership rebuilts. Petey--please add UK to your location name so people know you're not in the US!
  18. Seems to me that the only one who can answer the question is the dealership. Why not call them and ask?!!
  19. I think I'm as excited about your great find as you are!!! Please do keep us up on your progress. Would be nice if you'd add Ohio or OH to your ID.
  20. I won't pretend to be the final authority but I think that review was wrong. We put a Bosch universal--probably the same model number--on my son's '92 Legacy. Absolutely no problem with the fit. By the way check the prices on Amazon, it's around $35 there.
