I think you're off by a year Miles. 1995 was first year of "Outback" but it was just a Legacy with a trim package. Here's Cars 101 dscription: "the 1996 was the first year for a fully realized Outback with the 2.2L or 2.5L engine. The Outback model was introduced in 1995 as a trim level of the 2.2L Legacy with 2 tone paint and special cloth, and the 96 model got the 2.5L engine with the automatic transmission or the 2,2L with the manual. All models got the 2 tone paint, raised ground clearance and raised roof that immediately came to identify the Outback."

Your list looks good. You're right, one camshaft seal on each side--they're the same, left or right. Just be sure you get the "new ones" (they're black!) Just reseal the existing oil pump. While you have it off, loctite and tighten the screws on the backing plate. Get a new o-ring for it and seal it to the block with Permatex Ultra-Grey. Try a search on here for details. Personally I wouldn't touch the head bolts--too much potential for really messing things up! You can use "normal" green stuff antifreeze. As for the Subaru cooling system conditioner, I don't think it will do you any good. But maybe someone else has a different opinion. Hope it fixes your problems. Good luck!

There's a C-bus in at least 27 different states. Put your state in your ID and maybe someone can answer that! -
Congrats on the "new" car--and on finding this site, it's a great place to look for help. Quick tip--get familiar with the search function--just about everything anyone needs to know has probably already been covered in depth!!! That doesn't mean you shouldn't ask questions of course. Welcome aboard. Enjoy!

Hi, welcome aboard! Tell us what your car is (model, year, tranny) and what your concern is and we'll aim you at the right place.

What year(s) of GL are you looking for? We had two '85 wagons, a GL and a DL, in the family years ago. They were great cars--kinda' wish I still had at least one of them!

Welcome aboard! Nah, it's not stupidity--I mean c'mon, you want a Subaru, right?!! And you found the right place here at USMB. Good people, tons of information and a great place to network. May even help you locate what you want. In that vein, you ought to add "TX" after "Midland" in your ID--then folks will have a handle on what's closer to you. Enjoy!

Strongly suggest you not guess at anything, especially timing. Open up the front end, line up the crank and cam marks and rehang the belt properly. Good luck.
