  1. Yes, one o-ring for the oil pump. Be sure to remove the pump and check the rotor for loose screws. Remount with new o-ring and anaerobic or ultra-grey sealant. There is also one o-ring on each camshaft--left front and right rear. I think it's wise to replace them since you're so far into the engine at that point! Good luck.
  2. For my son's '92 Legacy we got the water pump, along with the TB and idlers, from The Import Experts. Working just fine so far (6 months!) But for sure get the water pump gasket, the thermostat, crank & cam seals and o-rings from Subaru (OEM). Oh, and you're not a cheapskate--you're just a wise shopper!
  3. Did you perhaps forget to put the washer on with the plug? (Please don't ask why I thought of this. )
  4. Exactly right! Two different sensors side by side on the crossover pipe under the intake manifold.
  5. Might be worth looking into. The ECTS will not affect the gauge--they are not linked at all. And, IIRC, the ECTS doesn't always throw a code. Good luck.
  6. Wonder if it might have something to do with the pickup tube or sock before the fuel pump? Fuel would shift in the tank as the car changes attitude when you start up the hill. Just a thought.
  7. Welcome aboard, smartbeatz. You'll find a lot of good advice & good people here. And yes, we'd love to see her. Good luck. Enjoy!
  8. A lot of us swear by MWE rebuilt axles. Never heard a complaint about them and I've got two sets working right now. The owner, Marshall Wolf, is a straight shooter and a good guy to deal with.
  9. Hmmm, I've always heard you should never use a tool to tighten the filter. I just go as tight as I can by hand--and I've never had one leak either.
  10. Nope, the two sensors don't communicate with each other. You could get the temp readings being reported to the ECU with a Scan Gauge however.
  11. Well that's not nice on your shiny new car! I would remove the new filter and inspect the engine's sealing surface--make sure there's no gunk or old gasket material on it. Check the new filter's gasket too. Make sure everything is super clean. Good luck, hope it's a simple fix for you.
  12. +1 what GLCraig said. Front is as easy as draining crankcase oil. You will need a small funnel since you have to refill through the tranny dipstick tube. Rear diff has two screw-in plugs, one above the other. They will be very, very tight! Half-inch drive breaker bar fits perfectly but you will probably need an extender. Make sure you remove the TOP plug first!
  13. Maybe check electrical connections to starter? Battery clamp connectors? Might be worn copper connectors on the solenoid in the starter--a common problem. Relatively cheap fix if she can pull the starter. Good luck.
  14. It's been so long I can't remember the details. But read post #3 in this thread--hope it helps: http://www.scoobymods.com/legacy-hvac-bulb-replacement-t91.html?s=&threadid=91
  15. Sorry 'bout that, curtis. But at least you have friends in Washington and Colorado.
  16. Welcome, Patriot! You obviously come from a very smart family! You're gonna' love it here--lotsa' good information and lotsa' good people who share it.
