  1. Welcome aboard, tricked. Being a newbie ain't no big thing here (unless you want to ask really stupid questions!) Can't speak to your questions but I'm sure you'll rouse some knowledgable responses. Enjoy that OBW. Hope your man used the latest version OEM HGs--might want to ask him.
  2. Welcome aboard, gibsonsk. Try posting your question in the New Gen forum--you'll get a lot more response there. Good luck.
  3. Welcome Jeff. Great place for Subarii here. Enjoy!
  4. Welcome aboard John. Or maybe I should say welcome home! Sounds like you were comfortable with your Subie from the get-go. And USMB is a great place to just put your feet up and learn and share. Good luck with your projects.
  5. That WAS the original Outback--1995 Legacy with different paint!
  6. +1 to what Rooster2 said. Yeah, the wires are pricey--but worth it! You might try checking online prices and asking your dealer if he'll match it. Some will do that to keep your business. Good luck.
  7. Should be driver side rear. Direction, left and right, is generally in reference to the driver sitting behind the wheel (facing forward of course!)
  8. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone would simply note their state or country after the city in their ID? Could save a lot of confusion--and make communication easier.
  9. Congrats on sticking to it and getting it done. Isn't it great feeling proper shifting?!!
  10. Welcome PATS_PEN. This is a great place for Subie lovers. Hope it can be of some help to you.
  11. Welcome grizzlypaugh. You're a wise person--learn all you can, then when your Subie finds you you'll be ready!
  12. Welcome aboard, Louie. Welcome to your Subie, Rubie, too!
  13. If I remember correctly, there's a soldered connection on the back that has a tendency to break! Try a search--it's been talked about in the past. Good luck.
  14. Welcome to USMB, john. You'll probably get more response if you post your question in the Old Gen forum. Good luck.
  15. Well, considering that people here are smart enough to drive Subarus, what did you expect? (j/k!!!) Welcome aboard, chefnick.
  16. Yes, there was a question yesterday. Where'd it go?!! Anyway, nice answer Fairtax. (Even if we can't find the question!)
  17. According to the list I'm looking at, P0335 is "Crankshaft Position Sensor circuit malfunction." Check the connections, maybe try a different sensor. If the engine is cranking over it wouldn't be the starter!
  18. Agree. Ask them what brand the belt and idler bearings are. Also I'd stick to Subaru OEM for the crank and cam seals. Good luck.
  19. Did you read Gloyale's response (post #3 above)--he made that suggestion! Credit where credit's due! :-\
  20. Glad you found the parts you needed. Hope the job goes well for you, keep us posted on your progress. Good luck!
  21. Welcome live2fish. Yup, you've been bit bit by the Subie bug! Great feeling! Sorry about "yesterday." Jump into the New Gen forum if there's anything we can do to help. One favor to ask--would you mind adding MN after Mound in your vitals? (It's something I wish everyone would do.) Good luck . . . and may the opposed forces be with you!
  22. Sounds pretty good. Suggest you get new rubber on all 4. With AWD it's critical that all tires match in circumference. Keep us posted on your progress. Good luck!
