Hi, welcome Sioux-baru. You'll like it here! Try posting your questions in the Old Gen forum, you'll get good input there, I'm sure. -

Welcome aboard, dieselpawn. You might get more response and discussion of your question if you post it in one of the more technical forums, like "New Gen." Good luck. -
Wow, composition in white and grey! Looks good. Hey, my old wagon is white--maybe I should take it out in a field of . . . nah!!! Welcome aboard, Corey.

My Soob storys..."Kinda long"
Olnick replied to Jake DMC's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
"You drove it, you liked it, you bought it... Not my problem"... That really sucks. We all know there are people like that in the world, but someone selling a Subie? Just doesn't seem right!!! When my kids were younger they knew I would never buy a brand new car. They asked how I knew I was getting a decent buy on a used car. I told them you never do really know--but when I go to look at a car I put as much effort into evaluating the seller as I do the car! (And yes, even then I've gotten burned once or twice!) Anyway, keep your chin up, Jake. Machinery comes and machinery goes (but we all know a Subaru is more than just a machine!) Hope all goes well for you from here on out. -
Every time someone posts about a GL or DL from the '80s my eyes mist up a little. Mine were wonderful cars. Glad you found your Suby and welcome aboard!

Welcome to USMB, Walter. Just for the record, it's "Torque Bind," not torch. Yes, it will get worse over time if not fixed. I'm no AT expert but others will chime in. First thing to do is check your transmission fluid. If it's old, brown, dirty and maybe smells burnt you should change it. Flush the tranny--or drain and fill at least 3 times. You can search on this forum for technique. That might help reduce the wear at least for now.

Well, add an Aloha . . . from up north! -
There are 2 sensors as Suzam said. Look at the engine from the passenger's side--they are towards the rear, under the IACV below the intake/throttle body. The brick red one is the ECTS. Here's a link that includes one of porcupine73's excellent pics: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75009&highlight=temp+sensor

New to scoobies, in ne pa
Olnick replied to angus's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Hi angus, welcome aboard. Watch out, those Subies really grow on you! There's tons of info here, all there to be searched out. And for questions, the nicest bunch of helpful, knowledgable people you could hope to find. Enjoy! -
My Kartboys were listed as '97 or '98 and newer--but worked fine in my '95. Don't know about '93. The fellow at TiC was great, cut a shifter bushing specially for me. Again, don't know about sizes for a '93. Truth is, the original bushing wasn't in bad shape, I probably could have lived with it (but the new TiC part felt super smooth so I'm glad I pursued it.) Here's my followup: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75993&highlight=shifter+bushings Good luck.

And hello to you, Arty--you're gonna' like this place. Must say you have good taste in cars, especially '95 Legacy 5-speeds. Can't beat that! I guess I've lived through the "Golden Age" of Subarus. Started with an '85 DL wagon, liked it so much we got an '85 GL wagon too. Now I'm driving a '95 Legacy L wagon. Such a sweet engine I'm not sure I'll ever move beyond it. My son in Seattle drives a '92 Legacy L sedan too. Again, welcome aboard.
