Not all of "us!" As modern cars got more electronically controlled by sensors and computers, I certainly got more intimidated. Felt like I no longer understood what was going on under the hood. Sure, I'd change oil and spark plugs but that was about it. What changed? Well, I found USMB. Good people who would share, offer suggestions, give step-by-step instructions if needed. But mostly folks who give inspiration and assurance--"it can be done and, yeah, you can probably do it." I for one am extremely thankful for the internet and especially this forum. Mahalo and Aloha!

Time to put in a plug for our buddy, Jason, at Mike Scarff Subaru in Auburn, WA. Nice guy, knowledgable and has always had better prices than other online places in my experience. West coast location makes little difference since everyone ships stuff everywhere anyway! Call 866-528-5282 and ask for Jason in parts.

Well keep it up Jerry--that's a very nicely composed picture of a very good looking vehicle! (However I know what you mean about remembering how to post pictures!) -
I think that's a terrible price too. Try some auto-electric shops or starter/alternator rebuilders. Suggestion: If possible, remove your starter, take out the contacts and carry them with you. There were 3 different styles/configurations for my '95 Legacy L . . . took me 3 tries to get the right ones! Good luck.
