ok, got someone to help me. There are 4 wires in the connector plug, Blue with yellow stripe, thick black wire, thin black wire and green. thin black and green gave around 4volts when turned on position. must be the gauge? blue with yellow stripe and thick black wire gave up to around 11v when turned on position but then dropped back to 0v. Postive probe in thick black wire and negative on a ground bolt gave a around a constant 0.05v Double checked for any noise when turning on and can't hear anything from the fuel pump.

just tried the starter fluid idea. Sprayed some into the intake piping twice, didnt work but then sprayed into the end of the piping and a bit in the throttle body and it fired once then died. so this is a fuel problem whether it be the pump or the electrical to do with the pump. I will check the power again and post up results. TO 4x4, I think you are correct. I must have probed the gauge wire. To be honest I don't know which wires are which and just tested all for power.

Hi, Recently had problems starting my Impreza. Tried absolutely everything. Then at last it started when I put a truck 600CCA battery on it. Took that off and put my normal car 500CCA battery back on. It ran the car for about 2weeks. But still didn't start that well. It has now stopped working again. I tried putting the 600CCA truck battery back on to see if it would work, but no! What could be the problem? I've got gas in the car.

Its a 1994 Impreza GC6. Yes, the check engine light is on. Can I remove the Inspection lid in the rear right side in cargo/boot, then remove the fuel tank lid and check out the fuel pump even tho I have half a tank of gas. Is it safe, what do I need to do otherwise? is the green and silver plug the fuel pump relay. its above the fuse box on the right side of steering column I have tried listening for the fuel pump when turning the key to "On" but not to "start" and I can't hear any sound coming from the fuel pump, but i do hear a very quiet "did, did" sound. So in my opinion I think it is either the Relay for the pump or the pump itself, I am leaning more towards the Relay tho. Because my car just died without warning when I went to start it.

I was trying to pull out the Coolant Temp Sensor and I noticed this small broken line/pipe coming from a little pump thing on the end of the Injectors Rails (if that's what its called???) This is on the left side of the car (standing in front of the engine bay) Drivers side in New Zealand. It comes from out of the top of the little pump thing and goes up into the intake manifold. I only noticed this now and I may have broken it while trying to pull out the sensor, but would this being broken stop my car from starting?
