  2. Nah, it looks like a lot of the wiring has been done outside of the factory, so I am assuming engine swap - Car runs like a champ, there are some dings here and there on the exterior but that doesn't bother me at all. Anyways - I called Subaru tech and they said the numbers on engine/tranny/transfer case and so forth are production numbers, They don't match and are not coordinated with the VIN number. This seems weird to me, but maybe I am just used to other cars. Thanks guys:grin:
  3. Thank you, that's a good idea. I am used to owning BMWs, and there is a vin on dash/ door jam/ chassis, engine, tranny, diff, and other places also.. I will give Sub a call, I just figured people here would have this info- Hey, not to sound insulting but, I own a 2000 Impreza wagon does anyone know of other forums that have a large group of sub peeps?
  4. In what way do they correlate? ..The impreza wagon was selling for 3,800 and it was too goo a deal to pass up. Thanks for the... infoh(SP?)
  5. I need to match the engine/transmission VIN numbers to the rest of the car. Can anyone tell me where the VIN number is located on both the tranny as well as the engine? Long story short, I bought the car from this Romanian dude who seemed like he was holding back - started finding a bunch of weird things with the car cosmetically. All the wiring under the hood looks like it's been done by ... well, lets just say it is not factory. Checked DMV records and it looks like he bought it from a Russian (..not that that means anything..... ..., but seriously./) Anyways, help me out - I'll appreciate it. and because of your help I will give you this: ..oh ************, this is a sub forum? ..jk
