  1. well me and my brother and buddy pulled the motor out of the xt-6. the head gaskets were both blown and so is the exhaust gasket, also found out that the radiator needs replaced and it needs a new clutch. but other then that the motor looks great. heads are going to get resurfaced and i am thinking about sending my cams in to get a mild ground done to them.

  2. if someone wanted to trade me a 2.2 car wrecked or something i would do that. the whole reason why i got the xt6 was because i want to do a whole swap engine trans diff and hubs so i can have a better selection of rally wheels and such. i know the er27 is a bad motor for parts and stuff. but its a starter motor for me and i usual go about things the hard way first. i get what you are saying though

  3. yeah suby l. jackson is getting a mustache my little brothers suburban is call ron burbandy and has a mustache on the grill. and i understand it is going to be a pain. i have thought about throwing the front end of the xt6 onto my wagon but i dont care too much for the pop up head lights. one of the other things i am doing is parting out the xt6 for members on the forum because of the body parts and such. so if anyone has any requests just pm me and i will see what i can do. the xt6 has a blown headgasket apparently, but i have much looking to do. i already figured i was going to have to do fabrication and redrilling, already planned on not using the spare tire rack in the engine bay. will be posting pictures of my progress

  4. So I have a 92 loyale aka Subie L. Jackson, who has a blown headgasket. So that sparked a thinking process of fixing it or making it better. I use to want to lift it but now i have realized that rally is becoming my next passion. So I got lucky yesterday and bought this car as the donor for this project. I am super excited to do this. Just need to find a build thread or member who has put a 2.7 in their loyale or gl wagon

  5. from a truck drivers point of view is that i would be concerned about the tongue weight of the trailer. especially since its only a single axle trailer your going to have a lot of weight on the tongue. Next is how badly are you rear shocks going to compress? if they compress a lot you going to have a lot of weight on the rear axle then the front which eliminates a lot of traction for turning. and you may have to drive in 4 wheel in stead of two wheel because of the lack of sufficient weight on the front end. Next is stopping, trailer brakes are great to have and if your going down a hill you have to go slow (with you 4 way flashers on, so everyone else knows you are going slower then the speed limit) and be in a lower gear preferable one low then what you were in climbing the hill. Also a lot of the guys that are talking about towing another Subaru with a Subaru don't have a lot of these things to consider because of the weight displacement of the load. Its just like that Toyota tundra commercial, the weight displacement of that shuttle is just right, so that the tundra doesn't have any weight on the bed of the pickup and its just pulling, if it had and tongue weight or bed weight like from a 5th wheel i honestly think that a lot of parts would've been broken. hope something in that rambling will help you

  6. So i have know my head gaskets were on the fritz and on the way out, i have been trying to get the money and parts together for it and i noticed the other day when i was checking the oil and adding some, that my coolant and oil are mixing. Just exactly how bad is that? i know its not good. and what kinda of head gaskets are the best for the replacement.

  7. hot damn. that all looks like it was fun. i cant wait till i get my jacked up subaru. but its looking like i might have to buy a pre lifted one and go from there since i am a trucker and a dad not too much time. but atleast i got a tool go getter of my own lol:lol: love the subies

  8. seriously this is all pissing me off hardcore.... if it comes down to it i ain't stopping wheelin, as illegal as it would be i would keep wheeling, but not mudding just trailing i know of a couple trails that atvs go on that i know my subie can fit. seriously though this has gotta stop. DAMN BIG BROTHER...............

    :mad::mad::mad::mad:

  9. i would carry basic tools and what not, jacks extra gas, super glue, duct tape and cb radio, sleeping bag and a propane torch for making a fire incase you gotta camp out for a night, and some extra food and liquid ( usually something that doesn't dyhydrate you fast) that's just on top of what i usually keep in my subie.

  10. pistons wild is trying to get areas open for us over here in the Vancouver WA and ptown or area, they helped e with my fubar with my old jeep, i got it stuck somewhere that i didn't know i wasn't supposed to be and then some rump roast hats torched my jeep after they pulled it out of the hole i was stuck in. but yeah i was one of those guys but after losing my jeep and thinking about what could've happened that day and the fines and what not i don't do that type of wheelin anymore. pretty expensive lesson
