it runs better than it did when i first got it. freaking thing would have to sit around for like 20 minutes to warm up so i can drive it or else it'll die now it runs and gets me to work as my daily beater but trying to get it a little more reliable. it's leaking oil i think the head gasket is gone gotta pull it in garage since it's like 10 degrees outside.

yes they all lack power but this one more than it should also consumes more gas than i thought it would.

i'll go pick up cap and rotor tommorow and see how that goes. the whole timing belt thing i've never messed with before and have no idea if it's off or not. i'll check the wires again with the diagram but replaced them one at a time so that wouldn't happen. EA82 is SPFI, i also thought it was clogged cat but i passed smog with flying colors about a month and a half ago. would it have passed smog with a clogged cat? MAF has been cleaned, along with throttle body. i seafoamed the car when i first got it and changed oil afterwards. trannys got enough fluid in it. i am going to be draining the fluid and replacing it soon as i get off my lazy rump roast how do i know if the timing belt is off, as stated before have no idea how to mess with that. thanks for help folks.

have a 92 loyale automatic can't seem to figure out what is wrong wit it. replaced parts include (new) spark plug, spark plug wires, alternator, battery, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, oil, radiator flushed. replaced with used parts, ECU (last one had bad CEL), coolant temp sensor, and fuel injector since old one's were throwing a CEL after replacement CEL went away. the car just seems to lack alot of power, i'll push it all the way to the floor no matter what it'll creep up slowly. i mean real slow it takes me awhile to get up to 40. any help is appreiciated. can an old distributor cap / rotor be causing this. also awhile bad my fuel pump decided not to work but after hitting it with mallet it doesn't give me any problems anymore. i really need to get a fuel pressure tester.

loyale likes to throw CEL codes
saetern replied to saetern's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i just pulled the ECU off, how do i check the proper connections between on the harness. I have picture of the harness saying which lead is what but i had the ignition on with the black lead from DMM on ground and the put the red one in terminal 23 (water temp sensor), 43 (postive for injector) and didn't get a voltage reading. Am i doing it right? that's how the checked the CEL one. I haven't checked the wires at injector, hard to get hand in there to unplug waiting till weekend so i can bring it in garage. Checked the wire's at the water temp sensor at normal operatin temps 2.3 kilo ohms (grounded it at negative battery terminal), so yea i'm gonna guess it's bad sensor. didn't get any reading from water temp sensor when vehicle was off for an hour. maybe to cold. Also when i had car at operating temps i unplugged the sensor and the second fan didn't kick in. -
14 Fuel injector - abnormal output already replaced fuel filter, going out in like 10min to check resistance, discontinuity, and insulation. don't have a fuel pressure tester. car tends to die if it isn't warm. also when WOT no matter what the rpm, it'll move up slowly. i put some techron fuel injector cleaner maybe it'll help. 21 Coolant temperature or circuit Keeps coming back even after i filled the car with antifreeze, was gonna flush the system but it's been like 5F degrees so don't wanna piss off neighbors cause i'm running water out in the street also when i first turn on car and try to change gears(automatic) i have to hold the part on the shifter down along with the black part on on center console. i forget but it threw another code either 61 or 45. but hasn't come back since ECU reset. also when car is not warm, just started in the cold, when i push the gas pedal all the way to the floor it sounds like the car is backfiring noise is coming from underneath driver sear though and not tailpipe. didn't know that, still a noob and just learning, i'll take a look at the guide. thanks.

i can hear the bubbles from inside the car. yea i've seen the fuel pressure guage and there expensive, tryin to see if a friend has one. when check fuel pressure is there a nob somewhere on the fuel rail i can check if so can someone get a picture for me cause i'm not really sure what i'll be looking for. the CEL will come on then go off, i figured it's from me seafoamin it, so i'll wait till everythin clears and replace the spark plugs / oil / oil filter. panel under steering column is off from replacing ECU. come to think of it, i should probably put the nuts back on the bolt since it's just hanging there :-p

92 loyale E82 TBFI, the car sometimes has trouble starting especially on cold mornings, it'll start but die like 30 seconds later. I have to give it gas and keep it in 1500-2000rpm for a couple seconds then let it go back down to idle. When it hasn't been on for like 10 minutes i'll drive it and it'll sometimes die. after it's warmed up i'll floor it and it'll pickup slowly to about 2500rpm and then hesitates then it picks up. maybe not enough fuel pressure? also when car is running, i hear the fuel in the lines being dump like there's bubles or something in it. sounds like water dispenser. Any help is appreciated. recently did the following, new spark plugs, new oil / filter, new fuel filter, new air filter.

Try this, i've never had to diagnose a cel but this might be helpful if anybody has any other input or if this is incorrect just post up http://www.troublecodes.net/Subaru/

92 Loyale-No LCD Light on ECU Computer
saetern replied to vtsuby's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I pulled this off of a EA82 service Manual My CEL wouldn't light up either after i checked ground / power it ended up being ECU, cause when i pulled ECU out, someone had apparently wrote "bad light" "driver Runs" on the box, once ECU was replaced it fixed it. the whole manual is here somewhere, the post where they converted carb to FI, i believe is where i got that from. -
yea cables are in hood next to driver side firewall i kept looking for them under dash, i have hanes manual which is pretty useless too. i had replaced my ecu so when i did that what i did was remove negative and pressed and brake pedal a couple times waited about 10 minutes(some say 45min) and put negative wire back on. i just googled it so try that if no one answers here. My cel was blinkin cause my read wires were one, but once i unplugged it it stop blinking. even if u do a ECU reset if something emmision related is wrong with the car, the light will come back up.
