  1. I was hoping that some fellow members might keep an eye out for a Cherokee Sport 2 Door 1985-1990 in the boneyards... seems finding a new driver's door is going to be a challenge because it's the 2 door and not the 4. In a perfect world it would be black, but at this point I'd settle for anything. Shoot me a PM if you find anything, I can get cash sent and we can work some finders fee... keep in mind I'm not a millionaire. Thanks.
  2. I like that a lot, it is super clean looking.
  3. Like Tom, I can't be 100%. I only speak for myself, but I have had good luck with the wiring being already there (1990 Loyale RS (Leone?) and a 1987 GL wagon) for many things.
  4. I hate to say this, because I am usually wrong about damn near everything, but, did you check your rear main seal before you pulled the gearbox apart? my own 'transmission leak', was really the rear main behind the fly wheel...
  5. most likely, I've seen it several times now, not just on my stuff, the wires are broken where they pass through the door - the master driver window works, because it's grounding out through the other window circuits but there is a break, or open, in the other window circuits read this: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=95487
  6. There is a place I go, that is a big black hole in night time satellite photos - if you know what I mean. Any help is several hours away by helicopter, assuming you can make it to the ranger station to get the call out... For that I can see the Uber list. Even around here I take some gear, to spend the night if I have to in the winter, but for most mis-adventures the list reads a little heavy. I kind of agree with Twitch, short of BFE Montana/Idaho, South America or Siberia it seems little over the top, what no welder? No portable lathe? It does explain why the Wagon is the preferred rig though
  7. you know they're not really that heavy, it's all in the wrist
  8. This thread is entertaining. Can't believe GD's kind offer, and I think if a Suubie could be rowed over the ocean, he'd help that project too. - he he- but, on topic, I like the black just as you did the lay out in the pic
  9. Cute helper I decided to start a new thread rather than hijack yours http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=857274#post857274
  10. ^^^ I agree, I was thinking of something that got rid of the late 80's cross bars myself, but I like what you did JC Whitney has some generic diamond pattern and hex pattern mesh, it even comes in colors red, blue and black IIRC I was thinking of using a red mesh to match my car, and I kept the grill from my parts car to experiment on (in case I didn't like my results)
  11. that's damn brilliant... seriously, that is VERY clever and it looks good
  12. Parked mine. Gave it time off from daily combat. Fixed some crap on my Jeep so the Suubie can be down for a while... Have some cool parts waiting for me to install, somehow I went from being underemployed to being overworked and some things, like Subraus and dirty laundry don't seem to take care of themselves
  13. I do that too. I kind of dig it. Mine is on hard down hill right turns, it was a bonus feature of the 87 engine I put in my 90. Otherwise everything else is just fine. Someday I hope the local sheriff is behind me when it happens. He'd get all excited about it I'm sure.
  14. and hello Kenya! I haven't been around for long on the bbs, but I'm not sure if there have been too many members from Africa! welcome
  15. It almost looks like you could use a short roll pin from the hardware store (<$1) it almost made me think it was a balancing hole in your pic, but I guess it does perfectly line up in the other piece mine didn't have that feature, but on the other hand the pulley center bolt torque is pretty high - it hasn't done anything weird
  16. hmmm.... well, mine didn't have a key, it was just bolted (1990 donor, 1987 recipient) are you saying the crank had a place for it but the pulley you got didn't?
  17. Well, Chux let me sort of 'pre-pay' for a harness. I look at it this way; eventually I will do a swap, Chux will make me a professional looking bundle and it is one less thing for me to screw around with when the time comes... I also wanted to help his cause, i.e. this accident is ridiculous and he's getting jerked around.
