  1. never mind the numbers, lime green grill and a confederate flag?
  2. I think SuperB's gray and white still looks nice...
  3. no center dif for one thing, they came with an s/r 5 and no side skirts... not sure if the RX had a/c either - since I've never seen one (or cruise either) also the final drive was an open 3.9 instead of the 3.7 lsd in the RX like I said, our vin numbers were only 800 apart... and mine was made in 8/89 forgot to look and see when his was made, SuperBrat? what's your door say for build date?
  4. baccaruda was talking about this, not in a Brat, but he may have wired them boy that'd be pretty nice to put in any car
  5. yes, no idea what the third car actually is, but SuperBrat and I have the 1990 Loyale RS, it came with the 1.8 spfi in turbo or non turbo with a s/r 5 "part time AWD" both of ours are non-turbo, which might explain why they have lasted so long I thought they were common until just recently. Now I realize they are somewhat obscure. (I also thought it showed in my avatar and sig, but the avatar is too small for most people to notice, maybe folks thought it was a GL or DL) until someone else chimes in, we are beggining to think they are the only two on the bbs
  6. has anyone run a different injector on the TBI engines?
  7. SuperBrat came down to visit in his Loyale RS, on the way into town he eagle eyed this obscure car waaaay back in the corner of the dealer lot... I don't know how he spotted it. It's the dealer mechanic's car, it is only badged as a 'GL Turbo', we think the skirts are from an RX. It had a d/r 5 and the pistol shifter from an XT... real mix of stuff. There is a nice shot showing all three of our cars, the two RS from the back and nose on. Interestingly, since no one can find production numbers (quantity) for the 1990 RS, we noticed our vin numbers were only 800 apart. The red one may have been sold originally in Minnesota. What are the odds of the only two RS on the bbs being 50 miles away from each other? SuperBrat liked my XT seats and 1978 Brat floor mats, I liked his early 80's rims and undented sheetmetal.
  8. wouldn't it be easier to plug in a different (known good) gauge than open the tank and pull the sending unit? it probably is the sending unit... but... I'd rather take a few screws form the dash yeah yeah it could be wasted time and he might have to go to the trunk anyway
  9. your probably fine to go with what it says for your model, there is a lot of interchangeability between cars
  10. do you still have the rx carcass? I need some sheetmetal...

  11. you mean try Isuzu injectors on an MPFI ea82? are there injectors that might work on the TBI cars?
  12. Hey! That's cool, and it'd be good for the smaller spot cleaning I need to do.
  13. Gabriel.com has a product guide you can drill down through and find the right ones
  14. Your car looks very sharp.
  15. oh, I have two ea82 hubs in my shed if you can't find anything close to home, I'm sure we can work something out - PM me if you need to
  16. I really really like that idea but wouldn't know how to pull it off... I'd be sideways more than straight on my gravel roads every morning! -btw- reading this thread passes on the curse, much like 'The Ring' this morning I overslept by about 15 minutes, so while I was busy spilling coffee on my lap I hit a &^%$*&^ slow a$$ bird - chinga! right off the windshield (no cracks) scared the bejeezuz out of me that was fine and all, but about 45 minutes later out in BFE I heard one of my tires go -pop- psss...psss...psss...psss fortunately I had cleverly left my spare at home to save weight - I was able to haul butt back home and switch vehicles, I'll deal with the tire later that's like the third flat on that damn stretch of road since November of last year, don't know what it is, suspect the farmer out there loses sharp crap all the time (maybe he's trying to get me to slow down)
  17. no individual fuse I'm aware of, might be the gauge itself - if you can't find one close to home shoot me a PM - I just sent a gauge cluster to a 'private wrecking yard' and could get it back if you need it
  18. damn dude, forget the mechanic, go see a priest or witch doctor and get your curse lifted! hang in there
  19. al oxide is at the hardware store, just keeping it to similar metals... but ya'... overkill I 'spose. pretty cool it can be done by hand at all, I'm in the same 'time vs money' situation so I can relate - hope it works out
  20. wonder how many rx center difs have been lost to this same process, man that sucks
  21. wouldn't an aluminum oxide abrasive be best?
