  1. 91 leggo 4"lift with outback struts 215/75r15 BFG mud terrain km2s 4eat with lockup switch
  2. Those tires will fit on a stock gen 1? hmm... I know they fit on gen 2 and gen 3, but always thought they would rub on the back of a stock first gen.
  3. That setup works well. i have an ea-81 built up just like that. the best exhaust to get would be to modify an ea-82 turbo manifold.
  4. So what is the best way to make the steering shaft fit with the d/r transmission? And do the drive shaft and cv axles still work?
  5. I got the engine to turn over! but there seems to be no compression. :-\ What would go bad to cause something like that?
  6. ok. i have a ea-81 parts wagon, so i could just swap everything over. i would like to find another ea-71 though, just to keep it stock.
  7. So from what i have found, i can take my spare ea-81 engine and use the ea-71 bell housing and clutch to make it fit?
  8. hey guys! just picked up a '80 brat on saturday! This thing is in really good shape! The interior is in near perfect condition, the jump seats have headrests and seatbelts, and the carpet is still in the bed! There is a little bit of rust on the passenger fender, door, and the wheel wells, but its not bad at all. The biggest problem is the motor is seized, but i can put an ea-81 in there if i swap bell housings? i would imagine the flywheel needs to be swapped too.
  9. If it has solid lifters, it needs to stay that way. i dont think they have the oil ports for a hydraulic lifter to operate. a buddy of mine tried it and he might as well have taken the lifters out. however if you swap the rocker arms out, the heads should fit right up
  10. hey guys! I am building a new daily and long distance driver. It's an 84 EA -81 wagon and i need to decide what kind of carb the run on it, as the original one has crapped out. Should i use another Hitachi carb, a weber, or a weber on an EA-82 intake manifold? I have all of these on a shelf, i am just trying to come up with the best option for a daily car with an otherwise worn out ea-81 and 4 speed d/r and slightly bigger than stock tires. I've got a good craptachi, a weber, a spare ea-82 manifold and weber adapter, but not an ea-81 adapter. I hope i am not beating a dead horse, i cannot find much info in the search function. Thank you! ~Yohn
  11. you can run a 185/75/r14 on a stock rig and have minimal rub. it fills in the wheel wells nicely
  12. I havent adjusted the carbs yet. need it to run first!
  13. More stuff!! Got the link made as well as a cable spool. now to weld it and powedercoat. and a custom airbox!
  14. You can throw a caliper on one side if the other is still good.
  15. hey todd!! sweet find! i want that green wagon please!! ~John
  16. does your ej adapter come with hardware or would i have to source it?
  17. That is awesome! thank you guys! That wiki page says this motor was available in the US? I thought they were JDM only.
  18. I never new that! does anyone know if there is any other info out there about this motor?
  19. I can get that alternator arm at work for five bucks. i'll take it! where do i send the money?

    Thanks!

  20. progress!! also, i dont have a throttle link for the motor, so i have to make one. had to fab up a bracket to hold the link on the passenger side we've got a powder coating setup at the diesel shop were i work. I love employee perks! and i decided to paint the hood on the wagon too. before after i had to factory order in a xt6 clutch kit so that is a week out. and i should have that throttle link done by the end of this week.
  21. hey man how's it going. how much do I owe you for one of those brackets? thanks!
