  1. i tried to take the fuel nipple off the hitachi, but it didnt want to come off. so i guess i will have to buy one :-\
  2. that took longer than i thought. it works now, but the pedal doesn't go down as far as it used to. and i'm using the hitachi return spring hooked to a hole i drilled in top of the air filter top piece
  3. When i added washers, there wasnt enought stub to put the bolt on. could you use a hammer to bend the plate so it didnt touch?
  4. and now the throttle cable is sticking. when i press the pedal, it wont move past a certain point
  5. What do you use to plug the other side of the fuel inlet on the carb?
  6. So i have mostly finished a weber swap on my '85 wagon and i am realising i am missing some things i need to finish it. fuel return T; I had one at one point, but now i cant find it, i suspect it was thrown away by accident, what have people used for this? fuel inlet screw thingy; the thing to hook the fuel line into the carb. whats it called? also there is a hole in the base plate of the air filter mount. what do i do with that? its now 2 AM, so i'm not really expecting answers anytime soon, but i have to go to work this afternoon, so i need to finish this soon... Guess i will have to wait until 8 AM when NAPA opens man life sucks for those who work the graveyard shift.
  7. Would alternators from a '89 maxima work? EDIT: according to NAPA the second and third gen maxima use the same alternator
  8. Scott in Bellingham or SJR lifts http://www.sjrlift.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=3 Allied Armament http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/Bumper.html
  9. No worries. There's not much i can do when i'm on the other side of the planet But i still want it!
  10. I really hope your wrong and its just something like an impurity in the casting of the part.
  11. i ran my wagon on 24's on 14 inch rims for a long time before i lifted my wagon and didn't have any problems whatsoever. except a broken timing belt, but that's unrelated but the choice is up to you
  12. I have an '85 carbed 1.8L 5 speed dual range with a 2 inch lift and 28's, and it does just fine even with the craptachi. (its awaiting a Weber though) if you do get it, don't use if for a wheeler, because there are camber issues associated with lifting the 85's and 86's. makes a good DD though
  13. it could be your tires jumping. my wagon likes to pretend it has hydraulics when i accelerate to fast
  14. Thanks! I'll have to take care of it after i get back from china though
  15. Nothing hit the covers to my knowledge. they were fine till i got my hands on them
  16. I'm replacing the timing belts on an EA82 mpfi and there is a fan here that i haven't seen on the carbed and spfi EA82s its on the end of the water pump pulley. how do i take it off? Pic Also the passenger side camshaft pulley is broken. Is this a sign of something else wrong?
  17. Thanks for your advice, info, etc. anyone else have experience with XT's?
  18. This one is a 5 speed pushbutton with the non turbo EA82 MPFI
  19. I found a '89 XT for sale on craigslist for 100 bucks. it has a broken timing belt, the doors don't match the rest of the car, they are white and the car is dark white. and the driver door panel is falling off. I would like to get it, but I'm not really sure what I'm getting into. I have talked to one eye on the matter, and he has advised me to pass and never own an XT due to the problems and you cant ever get parts for them. and this one is a junker and needs work, but i think that is part of the fun I was wondering if I should go ahead and buy the car and deal with it, or should i not buy it. No offense to you Jeff, but i still think its cool. if anyone has 2 cents i would love to hear it
  20. fixed! cleaned the terminals a bunch and replace the positive one. it was ruined.
